Tranny opinion
i've got a d16a6.....n/a, with a hf tranny...all i could find at the time, but what trans. can anyone suggest for furture turbo setup, i know long gearing is a ideal for boost, but 100mph in 2nd..that might be TOO long.

someone told me that aswell... i never really looked into it or tried any ways of proving it or proving it wrong but wouldn't short *** gears be an issue as u rip through them so quick? i kno my car loves 3rd n 4th but loves 4th even more cuz my 4th gear goes up to like 130mph. from 75 to 130 jus holding in 1 gear. im not saying ones better then the other but..
can someone tell me why longer gears would hurt a boosted car? jus so i could know

Longer gears will take you longer to get through that gear, which means slower. Plain and simple, turbo or no turbo..
Some people have so much power that they'll just spin their tires and ---- with a shorter gear ratio (EX or B16 tranny) But the answer to that problem is slicks, urethane mounts, etc. Anything to improve your traction.
Sure you could just get a longer geared (DX or LS tranny) and not spin the tires as much and you might be able to get better times with that, but you would get even better times with the shorter geared tranny and some improved traction.

i've always heard for b-series..ls tranny is "better" then si or type r for instance, but thats just other peoples opinions, i have no clue, no exp....but i know as of right now, i'm hittin just shy of 100 in 2nd...and it SUCKS...it wont even churp 2nd...well i'm gonna track down an si tranny then. thanks for the input
