Trance's Saturday night stump

Heh, I had a little scare last night after I decided to put on an overbored throttlebody and ported intake manifold I've had laying around here for a while. It was going on my 2000 Integra.
Yesterday was the nicest day out of the week (a whopping 40 degrees!!!). So I started my little install project. Get it all installed and try to start it up. The thing's idling like shyt, and smoking like a bastard! So I was like wtf?!
At this point it's dark out, getting colder by the minute (about 30 degrees now), and I have to trouble shoot my problem. Well I traced down the shitty idle to a leaking throttlebody gasket. Turns out I let my younger brother put the gasket on and bolt the T.B. down. I told him make sure the gasket is on right, it only lines up 1 way... Well he didn't. It was upside down.
While I had the T.B. off, I noticed inside the intake runners there was some aluminum dust from the guy who ported the intake! I even blew it out before I installed it to make sure it was clean. I pulled the plugs to check them out and find out why this thing was smoking, and I noticed the tops of the pistons were wet... This one still kinda stumps me. the moisture on the pistons smelled like fuel, not coolant.
I started thinking the aluminum dust may have fucked my rings up and it's burning oil. I couldn't tell what color the smoke was because it was dark out. Well I put the plugs back and bolted the T.B on the right way >:(, and tried to fire it up one last time to see if the problem still exists.
No more smoke, and the shitty idle was taken care of. Thank god I didn't blow my motor. I still have my little boost project to do as soon as the weather gets a little warmer. Heh, sorry for the longass post, but I just thought I'd share with you guy's last nights experience. Can you tell I'm a batchelor too? Working on my car on valentines day, what a sucker :-[.

The alum dust prob interfered with your spark. Good trouble shooting.

Change your oil as soon as possible too. You dont want any of that dust sticking around

Yeah I know it... I really don't feel like doing a re-build on an engine over something stupid. At least let it die peacefully with a turbo mounted on it ;D. Oil change is done, now it's on to installing the 450's :)
