i think i'm going to call it flat black since I dont like sanding and I dont like this 100 degree weather. I'm happy with the results. I believe the more productive work you do with this type of paint, the better the results. I finally got the feel for it on the third day, but i'm not going to do this car the right way. I think if you have a carport it would be alot easier. It so hot here that the paint sizzles and then smokes when i put it on the car.

Black is known to show everything wrong with a car. The lighter the color, the more you can hide. I read all the pages of that thread one night when I was thinking about doing this paint job and as far as I could tell, in order to get decent results, you need to know how to paint cars. Understanding the process is the only way to get good results. Laying down the right amount of paint and letting it set seems to be key as does wet sanding every 2-3 coats. I think if you spent some time wet sanding the car, did another coat or two, and then wet sanded again, you'd be much happier with the end result.

No doubt. I ended up going to Harbor freight, picking up a cheap gun and going to this little paint shop down the road. Spent under $200 for all the paint, reducer, clear coat and hardner. I ended up sanding the paint twice though to try and hide some of the body imperfections before it was CC'd. Even after the first layer of cc you could still see alot, so I ended up picking up some pearl to throw in the cc and now you can't see ---- showing through with all the damn pearl in it ;D

fmic mock up until i can break out my saw and welder

The paint is growing on me and I like it. I might switch to white in the future to hide the body imperfections, but I atleast want black for right now. I think i'm going to weld an exhaust tip on my muffler, probably just a straight piece of pipe cause that nissan muffler just looks funny. I also orderd the 2g gs-r emblem and i'm in the process of find some new acura emblems. I rebadged the car, i dont see the point in debadging an acura , i'm proud to own one.
