TRACK VIDEO IS UP!! My dyno numbers
Well i went last night to tune my hatch. I had gone to the dyno like 2-3 weeks ago but had some problems when the turbo blew on the dyno. So it was re built and i returned last night to finally tune my car after being running it for 5-6 months untunned.
Last time at the dyno i did 235whp and 196lb ft as baseline run...just 5 runs bafore the turbo blew :'( Anyways..I am pretty much satisfied with the results so far and i know the motor still got more on it. For those interested in the setup is a D16Y7 motor with Suzuki Vitara pistons on Eagle rods.Turbine is a T3 Super 60 (.48/.60) on a LoveFab manifold, 3" dp, 2.5 " charge piping, 450 dsm injectors, walbro fue lpump. tuned via Uberdata on a P06 ECU... thats the basics of the setup. The head is 100% stock...just an adj. Sprocker in there. Dyno was done on Pump gas 93 octane and 17 PSIs Results where---> 266whp and 240lb/ft (3rd gear) 4th gear pulls netted 253whp and 234.9 lb/ft. This time vs last base run we gained 50whp more in the midrange in some spots so think that pretty good. I think it made great power for just a SOHC non Vtec with a 100% stock head. For some reason we upped the boost to 20 PSI but it didnt increase the horsepower. Does this means that the turbo efficiency is maxed out?Im guessing there are some factors as to why it didnt bumped the HP..the turbo should be good for at least 300whp The A/F stayed at WOT between 11.1 and 11.4 so its pretty safe. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg |
Re: My dyno numbers
damn your almost at hotrex power and all from a y7. ---- nukka you aint even got vtak
|
Re: My dyno numbers
damn fjt, that is great. you need to give us the discount on the pistons. make it a better deal than ht cuz we are cheap azz bastards.
great numbers bro. you gonna time your car soon? |
Re: My dyno numbers
lol dude..the price on the pistons is a good deal..Actually i have seen them on ebay selling for $190 bucks je je(when i sell them for $123).. Im actually considering in raising the price, selling them on ebay and make a lil something for me O0.... Havent done it cause cause i dont sell them for living..just to hook you guys up ;D
anyways..im planning on going soon to the track..Im trying to get a pair of slicks to see if i can nail a high 11..I have a bad axle right now so for now i can just run in street tires..i dont think the axle will handle the slicks and stay in one piece. I might do some lil adjustments and see if i can get 5-10 whp more... Im thinking on upgrading from a Z6 manifold to an Edelbrock IM ands see if i can get a better top end and maybe some 10-12 additional ponies. Im trying to take out the most HP i can of this stock non vtec head before even considering going Vtec. |
Re: My dyno numbers
Great numbers man. I will keep you posted on what I net, hopefully going in a week. I am looking for around the same numbers on 17psi. Huge gains in the mid range though are always nice!
|
Re: My dyno numbers
i'm just curious as to how your guys piston to wall clearance & roundness look when putting it all together b/c the vitaras only come in stock bore or 40 over?
|
Re: My dyno numbers
Awsome setup! Looks like it would break 200ft-lbs by about 4500. Bet its an absolute blast on the street. Id be hunting down your standard boosted Bseries with that thing :)
What C/R do you end up with those pistons? |
Re: My dyno numbers
good power.
i made 282 on 9 psi though. my b series on 17 psi would be upwards of 425 hp. if not more |

Re: My dyno numbers
Haha, I let that one slide. Nice to see Josh accepting reality. Although, pulling a random 425whp estimate out of 17psi is a little far fetched. :P
|
Re: My dyno numbers
dave, i like the way 425 sounds. 17 psi would be over 400 hp though
|
Re: My dyno numbers
i came to figure that 319.9 was made but it was a 13-14 psi boost spike.
judgin\g by the way the mani gcreeped at any thing wot after 6500 ... right where the number was made. |

Re: My dyno numbers
z6 my car with blown ringlands will still own your ----.. you talk alot of junk for having absolutely nothing to back it up/
|
Re: My dyno numbers
Josh, you still have 19 months until I'll be driving the stealth shuttle up your moms coolo.
|
Re: My dyno numbers
Good numbers FJT. If my hatch wasn't gone I would get some Vitara's from you. Nice to see an old skool CHB.com making good power.

Re: My dyno numbers
nice numbers fjt, i believe i saw it on h-t also. and josh, no, you're b would not make 425+ on 17psi if you only make 319 at 13-14 ;) not to mention, good luck getting 425 out of a stock block :-X

Re: My dyno numbers
Wow man, that looks like a nice, decently low budget setup making great power. Congrats.
|
Re: My dyno numbers
Well i found out this morning that 3 bolts on the manifold where loose to the point that i could turn them with my finger. So i think that on the 6-7 final runs it was leaking boost and maybe thats the reason it didnt made more power when we upped the boost. I am tempted on tightening them and go to make 2 more pulls to see if the hp bumps 5-6 ponies more.
I have to check my charge pipes as well..i blew one on one of the runs The Most of the power was made by advancing the cam..There was a point where the car stopped making power at around 230ish and by advancing the cam timing 2 degrees it bumped almost 30 hp...as you can see on the graph there are points in the midrange where there are 50whp more than the baseline run..the torque bumped up alot as well by advancing the cam timing. Now we have to do a lil of street tuning for the Partial throttle and work the power down low. |
Re: My dyno numbers
nice numbers :P

Re: My dyno numbers
Nice numbers FJT . Hope to see some track numbers soon man. >:D

Re: My dyno numbers

Re: My dyno numbers
Here are 3 runs from the track..Im the skinny guy tightening the intercooler charge pipe after it blew on the 2nd run...thats why you see on the video that the trap speed was low..

that`s great, constantly traps at 111 8)

Re: TRACK VIDEO IS UP!! My dyno numbers
Wow man, good video, and nice times. What were your 60' on those tires? You said they wern't slicks, but it looked like you pulled off the line decently well.
|
Re: TRACK VIDEO IS UP!! My dyno numbers
Nice work man, Looks like you could help those launches with some suspension tweaks.

First run(12.7) was a 2.0 60 ft the other 2 runs where a 1.8 0-60ft.. This is the first time we run the car on slicks..first 3 runs ever on slicks so we still need to learn how to take off with them.. As far as suspension i have cheap Coilovers and Jamex Shocks...I need to do something about that :P |
Re: TRACK VIDEO IS UP!! My dyno numbers
thumbs up for the turbo d
