totally screwed on a car, what the ---- do i do?
ok ill try and keep this short and to the point.
last november i bought a 97 honda civic coupe on craigslist for $500 because it had electrical problems and a bad tranny. towed it 4 hours home, fixed both problems and was waiting on the dmv to send him the new title. said he had filed for a lost title, car was registered to him and i seen proof so i wasnt worried that it was stolen. anyways after about 3 months with nothign but excuses from him i decided to call the local licensing place and ask about the car. find out it has a lein on it and get the companys name. call them and find out that he owes $6K on it still and have been trying to repo it. told them the situation, they send a guy out to check on the car and call me and say its not worth the recovery fee and their not paying me for it or signing the title over to me. so im stuck with a car that i cant do ---- with but store it for them.
so i was thinkign of trying to get my money back and sell it as a drag shell with no title or
find a wrecked coupe and buy the dash and title and figure out a way to get rid of the rest of the vins?
i have been talking to the lein holder for a few months now and they just now told me today what they planned on doing today.

a friend of mine gave me an decent idea of buying a dash from a wrecked car with vin and title, registering it like i was driving the car, buy a RHD conversion to get rid of the firewall VIN then goign around to all other VINS and get rid of them. sounds hella shady but would be kinda legit since the other car would be destroyed already so there would be no conflicting title.
my ex's grandpa owns a wrecking yard so i might head down there and see if he has any advise on this whole thing.

was given a receipt but he had to work the day i picked it up so it was his friends dad that signed it, but i have all the emails saved in a word document between me and him from start of transaction to him lieing a few months later about a lost title and still waiting from the DMV
