You're using Comcast as your ISP?

Good luck with that ----, they've been aggressively attacking p2p stuff.... bittorrent is one of their huge targets.. and they're doing all sorts of shady ---- to keep that traffic off their network.

*** communications is doing that too. They monitor your upload constantly and can b flagged if some one alerts them that illegal files are being sent to you.

solution (has worked so fa) to download peerguardian and set up a "torrent list" the exact IP; can be found online. Set your upload as low as posible or disable it all together(yes u will be a leecher) and that should make u pretty safe.

Comcast just prevented seeding. You could leech all you want. And anyway:

Just a fortnight after the AP called Comcast out for tampering with some users' ability to swap files over P2P networks, a coalition has formally asked the FCC to stop the operator from interfering with such activity. The petition reportedly asks the Commission to "immediately declare that Comcast is violating the FCC's policy," and it's being supported by the Consumer Federation of America, Consumers Union, Media Access Project and professors at the internet practices of the Yale, Harvard and Stanford law schools (among others). Separately, Free Press and Public Knowledge are filing a complaint that asks the FCC to demand a "forfeiture from Comcast of $195,000 per affected subscriber." It's also said that this will be the "first real test of the FCC's stance on Net Neutrality," but there's no telling how long the Commission will wait before acting on the filings.
Glad I don't use comcast anyway.

i have already limited my upload to 15 kb/s

and yes, i know that puts me in the book as a "leecher", however, I am covering my ***.

as for blocking, utorrent has an auto ip block in it (according to there setup page anyway). i am running Vista so I have yet to read anything that says peer guardian works for Vista

can anyone confirm that peer guardian works with vista?
