Torquefreaks Dyno Day

Well the dyno day was fun.

My friend Alec and I went, as well as Beerbongskickass.

My dyno was the best. Not for power but for a laugh.

My Dyno
188whp/159wtq
Rings are uber cooked, it was pouring smoke out of the dipstick and pushing it out of the motor, and the breather was puffing blue the whole time too. Not bad power for a toasted motor.
450cc dsm's and Crome by PHiZ
GReddy 15g kit Intercooled @ 11psi

Alecs Dyno:
89 Hatch with D16ZC Dual Cam
T3 .42/.48
TurboEdit and DSM 450's
198whp/164wtq @8psi
Needs some tuning love and more boost.

Beerbongskickass' Dyno:
230whp/208wtq Go Pat!
t3 60 trim .48/.60 @ 12psi
450cc dsm's and uberdata

I gotta get the sheets scanned, then I'll post em up. Mine was weird, I had a perfect 11.5:1 - 12:1 on the best run, but the others pegged all the way into rich through most of the powerband. I am guessing its the screwed up rings messing it up.

Looks good. What's Alec's ride look like, he on here? Rebuild your engine man, or are you just gonna replace it when she blows?

Alec is on here, CivicZC I think is his name. Silver 89 Hatch.

As for my motor, I picked up a d16y7 and I am gonna use that bottom end and throw forged guts in it, and upgrade to a bigger turbo and try to get myself into the 300's. I'll probably re-use the JDM D15B Vtec head cause its got that nice cam in it. Supposedly that cam is comparable to a comp cams Zex 53900.

Action Machine in Shoreline, they do all my machine work.

Boring .20 over on stock sleeves eh? hope you can sleep at night after that. hah ;)

Actually it was 208wtq... thanks to my spiking internal wastegate. :)

Guess I shouldn't listen to Pat then. heh, ill just hone them and stick to stock bore. Just that pistons are more readily available in 75.5mm than they are 75mm. I gotta find a good place to buy em.

Speaking of Pat, you're home already? Last time I saw you, you were passing the freeway and heading for the Airport. I thought maybe you wanted to get in some runway pulls, or maybe that 230whp run made you think you could fly. ;D

I so wanna see if anyone got me pouring all that smoke on video, that would be the ----.

I had to ---- something fierce and I didn't feel like crapping at torquefreaks so my buddy and I went to itt-tech and ---- there. We both went to school there a few years ago. Anyways I am tired, I need a nap.

CP/JE/SRP/Arias all have standard bore D-series pistons.

Only ones that dont are wiseco, Endyn, Ross.

Whats your opinion on what I could do as far as HP on the stock sleeves, and what do you think I should go with for pistons, I was thinking CP, but I guess I could probably go cheaper to like SRP maybe. Ideally I would like to exceed 300 at the wheels, somewhere in the 300-350whp range. I'll probably buy Poo Rods (Scat)

Yeah, I'm Alec. I had fun today, I reached my goal of 200 to the wheels so I'm happy. I just need to tune the damn thing. I had 13-13.5 across the board. So maybe with some more fuel I'll get in the 210 range.

Nice Alec...is this on the ECU I just sent you?

BTW, I sent those BINs to you tonight.

Re:Torquefreaks Dyno Day

Yeah, thats with the ecu I got from you. I need to find someone local that can tune it, but it's running good.

I guessed 230whp before I went down to torquefreaks. Looks like my ass dyno is pretty accurate. :D

------- nice. Looks like you guys had fun.

If you want, send me your bin Pat and Ill smooth your A/F. :)

Re:Torquefreaks Dyno Day

Yeah I'm not sure if that A/F printout is very accurate. My PLX doesn't vary nearly as much as that when I am at WOT. I did get my nokia cable the other day though so maybe I will send ya my ECU and cable so you can hook me up with datalogging (not sure what else I need?). :) I can borrow my dad's laptop when he is home and just drive around and log everything, then make changes from there.

Yeah I wouldn't trust that dyno o2 sniffer, I'd rely more on your PLX

Trust a professional sniffer built for the job or a cheap one not calibrated with test gas for all conditions? Tough decision is it?

Max tourqe = 415 LOL.

nice runs boyz.

DYNO SHEETS!

This is all 3 of us, when TorqueFreaks emailed these to me they removed the 415wtq on Pat's.

CivicZC's Dyno - Xenocron, clean that AF up for him so we can bump him into 10-12psi
http://www.centerlinemotorsports.com.../alec-dyno.jpg

Pat's Dyno - minus the 400wtq run

My Dyno - COOKED RINGS! great smoke show.

Ask Torquefreaks and they will even tell you it's a little off. Jason (BoostedEJ1) went down there a few weeks ago to dyno and they said their wideband was about by about 0.5. They were using the sniffer you put in your tail pipe, those aren't as accurate as the widebands with o2 sensors you stick in your downpipe.

haha! i didn't see that, guess I was too busy looking at the nightmare under my hood.

Today I checked the oil (first time in about two weeks), only 1qt low, thats alot of smoke for 1qt. I am thinking I'll call Baxters and get the parts to re-ring, wanna help, ;D

We are actually gonna do it up at Pat's house sometime this week if he doesn't go to Pullman, otherwise its down to Woodburn to do it at the car wash.

I know it sounds odd I said at the carwash, but my buddy owns it and my bro in law has a single stall shop in the back, cant beat the price of renting it...free.
