PLEASE dont turn the crank, honda cranks are soo unreliable once you turn them. just find another one forl ike 20 dollars.

Engine Designation D16Z6 w/ Neck Diameter of Crank at .865" (22mm)
Engine Designation D16Z6 w/ Neck Diameter of Crank at .944" (24mm)

where is this measured?

I've seen a couple big power builds using 0.010" under cranks and King Alecular bearings.

The-o-rectally, as long as you have oil pressure, surface hardening doesn't mean so much. Unless you detonate, which shoves the rod down hard enough to displace oil film + contact bearing with crank; this is what causes upper bearing shell wear.

Given the average lifespan of a turbo D16 at 200+ whp, turning or replacing the crank is probably a non-issue... do whatever is cheapest.

id love to get a few more opinions on this

its cheaper to get another crank anyway. The bigger the journal, the more surface area. Not like its that much of a reduction but id just get another crank for the peace of mind. That and not having to deal with getting the machine work and custom bearings etc

Id just get it turned and run it.For a modest D16 who cares. But if a crank is cheaper to get then go for it.
