Tool for checking spark?
Anyone know of a good easy to use, and reliable tool for checking spark?
Im sick of doing the old screwdriver trick, or the plug to ground trick. I t always either seems like i cant see the spark or i end up getting electrocuited.... lol ...
anything easy that u just like clip onto the outside of the plug wire?

Re: Tool for checking spark?
skip the screwdriver..
start the car, pull a wire, if it sounds different then that cylinder has spark. repeat for each cylinder. if u pull a plug and there's no change in sound, then there's no spark. easy huh?

i never use a screw driver, just use the spark plug itself. Take the plug out, then connect the plug to the wire, set it down on the valve cover near a stud/ground.. have someone crank it over and you can watch for spark. You wont get shocked at all. Or if your trying to look for a dead hole while the car is running, you can get some plyers with rubber ends and take the wire off the cap/plug whiles its running and also not get shocked.

Champion or whoever makes a tool that you trace the plug with, It like a little ornage flash inside the tube.
It come in real handy if you have a bad wire and tracing down where the spark is jump to a different wire.
I've used then for 20+ years, very handy and SAFE!
They were esp. helpful back in dem dar V8 days and 7mm crappy plug wires.
Lisle makes something the same, but you have to ground a clip.
Also, you everythink about using a timing light It works just as well.
