took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
well, there was a dyno day here in town on saturday and i wasn't planning on running b/c it was 40 bucks for two pulls :-\ well, when i got there, there was no one there and i kind of felt bad for the guy for devoting his saturday at the request of local rice....... errrrrrr, i mean racers, so i decided to run. 236.5 whp 176.8 tq :P not too bad numbers i guess, this was on 12 psi with stock cat, 2.5" crush bent dp, and 2.25 after cat pipe. if i ditch the cat and run a full 2.5" mandrel exhaust, i think i'll pick up at least 10 whp, and with stock clutch too. i think with exhaust, new clutch, and some tuning, i could hit 260 whp easily on the same psi. i'll scan my dyno sheet in later and maybe even put the video if you're lucky ;)
http://www.newbieforces.com/files/dy...4444444444.jpg you can see i went a little lean between 5 and 7k, i thought it was a lot worse for some reason, at first in boost it was staying right at around 12 i was pretty surprised when i was watching it, then it started climbing a little but dropped back down. could definitely use a little tuning. as far as the video, it prolly sucks, but it's better than nothing. you can see the afr on the bottom of the screen. YOU MUST RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE OR IT WON'T WORK!!!!!!!!!! http://www.gameroom.com/projekteg/dyno%20002.avi |
Re:took the si to the dyno.....................
I wanna see the video! put some street footage in there while your at it :P

Re:took the si to the dyno.....................
Nice numbers. I still can't believe you're running 12psi on that stock b16. :o

Re:took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
some dude here in winnipeg hit 344 whp on 12 psi on a mustang dyno i thing, no timing retard maybe even timing advance who knows, it granaded after 2-3 months i thing but f@ck 344@12psi on a stock b16 so they can hold alot of power turn up the boost man ;D

Nice #'s
I always like to see a good engine pushed to its limits!!! |
Re:took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
Cool video. I'm still surprised with the boost. Where do you live again? it's definately projekteg vs. stan now. ;D

Re:took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
There are a lot of stock block B-series engines with 300 hp...It's nothing special.

Very nice numbers and there is still untapped power 8)

Re:took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
Great base numbers man, a little tune and you will be set.
Looks good. |
Re:took the si to the dyno.... UPDATED *w/video and dyno chart*
any ideas why my tq is so low (i know, i know, 'it's a b16, that's why ;))_??? but seriously, i was thinking it would be around 200 wtq or so :-\

Yea i'm a -----. I'll venture into 10psi someday. When I get this damn pipe on Wednesday to hook the charge pipes up to the turbo, i'll take the leap to 8psi. ;D
Stan PS: get msn damnit! |

Next time your at the dyno, set your vtec at 5600~5800 you will have a nice smooth transition when it kicks in. Right now its set to low (yes stock is low) and it has a pretty good dip in power. On my ls/vtec turbo and crvtec high cam was set at 5900.
And damn, pats making more torque than you ;) hah, Most b16's lack the torque. Good job kevin, Jeff |

That .60/.63 is really going to be running out of steam at 300whp. Dave was around 15psi and made 289 on his b16a with ITR cams and ITR IM.
Definatly time for a turbo upgrade ;) |

teg you might consider the stepwise retard instead of just retarding it 1 full degree throughout. Blundar has a lil formula thats on the uberdata tuning forums. Check it out.
http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata/for...y;threadid=716 13.5 AFR while NA. 28 degrees timing at boost/NA transition peak power production. Timing retarded by 1 deg / 1000 RPM on top side of RPM band after peak power production. 12.5 AFR from 0psi to 3psi. retard 0.25 degrees cumulative by 3psi (i.e. 0.08 degrees/psi) 12.25 AFR from 3psi to 5psi. retard 0.75 degrees cumulative by 5psi (i.e. 0.25 degrees/psi) 12.0 AFR from 5psi to 7psi. retard timing 1.75 degrees cumulative by 7psi (0.5 degrees/psi) 11.5 AFR from 7psi to 10psi. retard timing 5 degrees cumulative by 10psi (0.75 degrees/psi) Posted by: Blundar http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=861171 |

looks good kevin :) get that baby tuned up and let us know what she does then. im hopin to put down around 300 hp on my b16. well when i get my turbo :P

hey kevin, i know this guy in town who has an old lap top equipped with uberdata, and can do some datalogging as long as the ecu is ported for it...you can use it anytime :P
and i pmd you about the clutch...should be getting it tonite. |
