Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

Just spend a lil bit more and get KYB AGX's, but if you cant afford it, id go with the tokico's, just get some good springs.

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

tokicos suck. We've blown many sets.

Don't skimp, spend the extra cash and get the AGXs, they are worth it.

Don't buy cheap springs either...

you get what you pay for...

I love my AGX's. I was in the same place you were when trying to buy, and everyone told me to shell out the extra for the AGX, and I was not disappointed. Got mine from Tire rack for a reasonable price with some H&R springs.

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

Which Tokicos are you referring to? I have Illumina's with tokico springs and the ride is almost exactly the same as my friend who has KYB AGX's and H&R sports (both adjusted the same) I bought these used and got a good deal, otherwise I was going to get AGX's and GC Coilovers.

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

well i got some cheap coil-overs and they ride fine. they dont really bounce alot or ride rough like most i've seen. so i should be good there. i've been using the stock shocks ever since i put em on (like over a year ago), and i think its time for new ones cuz the stockies are going out. i am on a budget right now so i dont think the AGX's will be an option. the regular tokico's vs the regular kyb g-2 shocks? which are better? ---- i always thought tokico was the way to go but i know for a fact that the kyb's are good also. i just want to know what most of you would put if it was your car/personal preference?? thanks for all your opinions

i got dropzone shocks on my coupe, and to my suprise they were way better than the tokikos i had before them, and they are cheap of ebay. like 180 for all four

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

ah come on..... i just want your opinions :-\ i know the agx's are probably best but i gotta budget to stick to.

sounds like those cheap coil-overs probably have a low spring rate. either set of shocks should be fine. i would take the tokicos over the regular kyb ones if they were the same price. what's the warranty on both?

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

well i was just gonna get 'em off egay for a decent price. enter "crx shocks" and nothing but kyb g-2's and tokico's come up. shipped and all, its about $215-230 for either......so which do i get? as you can see i'm bad at making decesions :-X

Just to beat a dead horse. You can't go wrong with KYB AGX's. I've had a few different shock setups and these are by far the best ones ever. The only way I'd ever change these out would to change to a set of Tein coilovers. I use Tanabe springs just so you know.

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

---- yeah, thats legit! as you can see my broke ass cant afford nice things like that so help a brotha out 8) i might just go with the kyb g-2's for $205 shipped and they come with a lifetime warranty, so i guess you cant beat that

$205 shipped sounds good to me :)

TiCaL 10-20-2004 09:52 PM

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

ah come on dont tell me that! :-\ i was just about to get em! why do they suck? see this is why am wondering if the tokico's would be better for about $225 shipped, but i dont think they come with a warranty...

werd and you will only have to save up an extra 100 bucks, and you'll still have some change left over ;)

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

or, you could just buy one shock, i've got one 8 way adjustable 99 integra shock on the back of my civic, ofcourse you have to modify it abit, it will still work. 8) feels just like you have 2 shocks out back, seriously.

Re:Tokico vs KYB (shocks)

i got gr2s but from an integra if that made any difference
