Ad said titanium construction....Never can tell on ebay. Turns out it is all titanium and the build quailty is excellent. The center core has an interesting raised spiral perforated core. There is a bolt on stainless exhaust connector for welding on. It is super light - less than 6 pounds! This model - EV801 - is over $300 on some websites. It is from "99centsnoreserve" I think they have more.

I highly doubt its titanium. Titanium is over $100 per pound. You can get at least $40 a pound in titanium scrap. If its actually titanium I'll buy 1000 of them just to scrap them and make a ton of money for doing nothing.

I also used to be in an aviation course in high school, we went out on a field trip to where they build the DC10 which is powered by a turbo porp engine, the heat shield was made from honeycomb titaniim similar to this.
The going price for the heat shield was $100,000 canadian at the time. this was about 4 years ago.

Re: Titanium muffler on ebay
Yes it is real titanium - as to the actual gauge the sheetstock is it is difficult to tell. If the whole muffler weighs under 6 pounds then logic would tell you that the actual Ti "can" is probably less than 1 pound. As far as the cost of Ti do any of you smart-asses know what it costs to buy direct in China, Russia or India? As this is where a large portion of of this comes from outside of the USA. Have any of you been in a state of the art steel production facility in India?? Yes I said India. Believe it or not one of the highest quality steel producers in the world is located there.
So what do I know about fabricated products? I am the Engineering Manager for a $90 million a year manufacturing company here in Vancouver. I also have 6 millwrights currently reporting to me and am responsible for a 220,000 sq ft facility and all of the equipment. Previous to that I was the Operations Manager for Canada's largest off highway wheel builder (open pit mining trucks). I have designed sub-arc and MIG assembly workstations. Has anyone on here ever seen a Submerged Arc process? We were welding 1.125" plate in 2 passes at 2 inches/ second.
Get off my ***** unless you have a clue about what you are talking about. If you think the muffler is a poor deal then don't buy it.
