Default Tires

I wanted to know what is the best size tire for drag/street use?

Ive heard that the profile size should be kept as close to stock size to keep gear ratio and speedometer readings accurate.

The tire would be going on a 00 civic 4door. so i was wondering if a 215/55 would be a good size on 17 inches. Or would it be better on a 15 inch rim?

I just need to know what size i should go for without losing any performance, im not concerned about looks or rim size, just whatever is best for Street and Drag use.

I would go for slicks but those arent available right now.

Thanks.

Get 15's for a civic.

I there aren't many tires good for tires for street AND strip. Go with something like Azenis or Kumho MX's or other summer tires. Then get 2 spare rims/tires for the track.

205/50/15 on ASA's for the street

22x8.5x13" on match 13" ASA's Slick for the track
(I've had 13", 14" and 15" rims all the same at one point)

Don't say there not availble, EBAY baby!

get some comp tires for road race, the softer compounds work well for strip too... some 205/50-15s A032s from yokohama work well, and don't get 17s, the 55s wouldn't even fit, you'd need 215/40s ... but don't
