Time for a new car?

So...its summer and ive been looking at all of the new shiny cars for sale. I have wanted a new car for a while but there is nothing wrong with what i have. While i was out looking for cars i saw the outrageous prices that people are charging for Civics. That made me start to think about selling mine and getting something else. Around here i could easily get $5000 for my 97 Coupe which i think is ridiculous. I have been looking at Audi A4 Quattros and they are reasonably priced. I could sell my civic and slide into that for just a few more bucks. I was hoping for some opinions on what i should do. Its just ridiculous what people can get for a civic these days. I bought my car for around 4.5k and it had a hell of a lot less miles on it then.

in my opinion, id stick to hondas, siply because they are cheap and easy to work on. dont get me wrong, i love the A4's, they're pretty quick for a german car. but on the downside, they're hella expensive to replace parts and ---- on. and from wht ive heard they start needing parts at 60-65k and on. its not really worth it in my mind. but, if you have ass loads of money go for it. audi's are chick magnets :y

If you can't land a chick by yourself then your hopeless. I looked at A4's since they fit into the things I wanted in a car but their parts are just so damn pricey and from what I remember those A4's have a goofy bolt pattern for wheels(5x112).

Re: Time for a new car?

Though if those AMG wheels are staggered you can kill the tranny or diff rolling different sized wheels and rotating wheels will suck. This is if that A4 or if they are used on a AWD setup. Since my VR4 uses the common 4x114.3 wheels and was shopping for jdm wheels as 114.3 are more common then 100mm and alot of the wheels were used on RWD setup. I didn't realize that using a staggered setup on AWD is like drivetrain death. Not to mention come to rotating staggered wheels the tread will be backwards if it's got a directional tread pattern and you'll be rolling bigger wheels up front.

Ya the parts are really expensive and the electronics in those cars suck dick. You can make them really quick though. I had a GTi 18T pushing 22psi, hauled ass pretty good but very expensive.
