Tig Welder

I wanna start doing headers and turbo manifolds at home but don't wont to spend 5g's on a Tig welder anyone know where i can get a good Tig for a real good price that wont be outrages cause i'll only use it so many times but i wanna find people i can make extra money off of on the side but ya know i dunno how many times it will be used if i can't find other people beside me and my friends stuff... is there an alternative like a real good Mig that you guys would trust to do a manifold with???

There's alot of poeple in the manifold business these days. Get a nice 130 mig and do some stuff with that. It beats spending thousands of dollars for something you can't even say will be in demand. A good mig is always fun to have around even if you sell nothing. >:D

I bought a knock off Chinese unit on Ebay that is a TIG/Arc and plasma cutter combo. I paid $600 for it and it works mint.

I'm sorry but you don't even know know where to go to purchase a welder, let alone the cost of 'em, but you wanna start making/selling things? Your a little late in the game.

exactly...... ive been going to school for the past two years learning to weld. needless to say, theres no way your going to pick up a tig welder, weld a manifold and expect it to sell. especially when theres 100 other folks out there with 10x the experiance.

but a mig welder, easy to learn and produce quality. ive been tig welding for the past 6 months and i still havnt mastered it. I just built my own manifold, and well, even with my experiance there are quite a few parts that i feel i could have done better on. I definatly would not sell it w/o more experiance.

i have a miller 180sd. it works great on ms, ss and aluminum. i've used a few different welders, tig and mig, and i like the miller products. the 180sd is a great starter welder. if i were to buy another one again though i'd go with something like one of the more compact units that you can put a watercooled torch on.

good luck.
