I usually average 65 a week. Everyone at my works rate is low compared to other shops around the area. We have a bonus program where if you break 230 hrs in a month you get 1.00 for every hour flagged. If you do 260 you get 2.00 for every hour flagged. Were also pretty busy shop, we have around 25 techs and eveyone at least makes 50 hr a week. Plus there is always used cars or PDIs to do on your day off.

We play roulette for our jobs, Nobody hands them out per say. We have computer terminals around the shop and you just get your next job through that. When the ROs are written their is a skill level in the op code. So a new to the field "C" tech isn't going to be getting some electrical nightmare.

I love flatrate. I've been at my current job going on 6 years and have never had an under 40 hr paycheck. Have had a few 40-45 hr paychecks and they blow. But in the end if you are if you are hitting high bonus and make a TSI bonus(if TSI score is equal to or higher then district you get .50 for every hour that month) you get a decent paycheck.

It's actually not so bad. I had two good friends, one a ford guy and the other a toyota, and they both knew their stuff backwards and forwards. It worked out great cause they were doing 10hrs work in 7hrs. And because they were so good, dispatch always gave them work. So it really depends on your skills and reputation. cause even if youre awesome, you wont get work if you dont have any friends in the shop.

sounds like you need to find a new employer..........i was there once. working at an independent shop.......worked 45-50hrs to get paid 25-30........---- that ----

spoonfed.............damn i wish we had bonuses like that, a friends father works at another Honda dealer and he gets $1 extra per hour for everything over 60hrs and another $1 for everything over 80hrs.............makes an already kick ass paycheck even better..........85hrs @ $20-21hr.........thats what im talkin bout

to the OP.........only way to find out if its gonna work for you is to try it, ppl who are flatrate seem to like it.
