Those crazy Camaromullets!

If you're going back that far, why not just run a damn blower off the differential?? |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
Super sleeper, but I can't see that being efficient. That thing must lag like crazy. Also, he is getting the nastiest air into that filter possible. :-X
How does that return work? Gravity would stop the oil from feeding uphill. ??? __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
thats pretty kewl, but thats gotta compress some serious air before it can build up pressure

Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
i hope he doesn't bottom out or drive in the rain :-[

Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
My guess it has a pump for the oil return?
Man, thats just ------- crazy, externally gated and everything, lol |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
wow... that is kinda amazing... I hope he doesn't have any exhaust leaks before the turbo.. NO CAT and such ... but what a way to conserve space in an engine compartment!
|
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
camaros have absolutely no engin bay space, and he could use aftermarket n/a headers so that makes it easy, but the air filter location and lag would make it not worth it.. you would think.
|
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
The first thing I would think of is the fact that filter is so ------- low it would be sucking up water in the rain. That could be fatal :o

Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
Well, its probably straight piped, so its probably a strip car only. Not much daiy driving. Alos, its a v8, so it puts out much more exhaust gas through that single pipe then ours do. Its got 8 cyliders worht of exhaust in a single pipe, so lag wont be to bad. its just gettting it back to the engine. Oil return line would need a pump like someone mentioned. Kinda creative.

Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
he's actually running both exhaust pipes to the turbo.. look at the right axle... that exhaust pipe comes over too.
well..... I think. Does the one on the left connect to the turbo too? or stupid me.. or is the one on our left the charge tube? yeah, ignore everything I just said. The one on the left is the charge tube - you can see the clamp fittings |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
The guy claims that aftermarket headers or exhaust actually hurt the kit - kill velocity I guess.
There's a lot of criticism of it going on right now... apparently the guy pulled a solid 13 in the car - ran low 15's before - at 5000' of altitude. If he went to sea level, the car would apparently blow up due to the ECU being stock or some such. I'm not too surprised to hear that. The GM EFI setups I've played with are strange, and the tune skews about; feel very lucky to be in the Honda world guys. Anyway, here's a real link: http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...hreadid=184391 |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
This setup still owns the coolest in my opinion. Not the type of turbo but the location. I'd love to get my turbo away from the exhaust manifold and way over there. http://www.drturbo.com/civic6.jpg |
Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
how could the header kill velocity. thats what headers are for to create velocity, they make a vacuum in the exhaust to suck out exhaust from the engine. unless he picked out headers that were way to big for that engine.

Re:Those crazy Camaromullets!
Wonder how long the turbo (sinners pic) will last in that position... oil flow and stuff.
