You got divorced two years ago? It's only logical you want to rail some ***** and AVOID commitment, and not being a ***** or a body count guy you date them for a couple weeks to a couple months. How is that not the best for you? Where does mom get off trying to arrange a marriage with a stranger of unknown compatibility in the name of what's "best" for you? That makes no sense, and in that light neither does this whole thread.
You need to sit down and think about life and how you want to live it before you consider anything like family/friend/romantic relationships or moving across the country. You are being wishy-washy about this MI situation because you are wishy-washy. Time to grow up, dude. You can do it; you aren't stupid, you just lack the experience at calling the shots that would lead to self-confidence in your own decision making.

so they just moved out there and are starting a Vineyard and can pay you 6 figures? WTF did they do before that. No offense to you or your parents and their talents, but the wine business cant always equal you not having to ever worry about money again unless you have a marketable/profitable product imho (your name isnt jeff frank). What happens if the business flops, are they just taking a stab at being winemakers or is this their thing they have always done?
btw: if my mom ever told me she wanted to "arrange" a marriage for me, I dont think I could stop laughing. The fact that youre considering it is ludicrous. There is NO way that will work out well, this isnt 14th century europe where your parents arrange for you to marry some hag so they get to share control of her parents land.

Hmmm life all setup and free house? WHat more do you need to convince you? Hell the girl could be retard and have no legs or arms and I'd still go. Lower Michigan is pretty nice and the western side. During summer you can just go north and it's amazing with Mackinaw Island, St.Ignace/Mackinaw City or check out the massive dunes on the western side. You can still get the big city action and go to Detroit, or Chicago for shopping or whatever. Yeah you get season but living in the Wisconsin my whole life I can't imagine living without them. I lived two years in Texas and even though it's not SD, but winter can be nice believe it or not. Ann Arbor is still a good size town so it's not like you'll be living in bumfuck Michigan.
