i want to get a welder so i can do little things like weld up some charge pipes, exhaust, or maybe even a manifold. but i wont be welding up exhausts for the whole town or anything. so i wont be using it very often. how about something like this? what do you think? thanks...

harbor freight has a cool one...

 

get the wire feed not the arc welders. those arc welders u posted are absolute garbage u will get pissed off at it and throw it out.

even with the electric wire feeds, welds look like ----.

 

Yeah, those welders are crap. At least get a cheap MIG welder, you'll be MUCH happier!

 

isnt that last one (from harbor freight) a MIG? anyway so how much am i lookin at spending on one of those??

 

if you really can afford it, go with a TIG welder. ARC welding is hard (on small parts) and messy. Plus the flux smells nasty.

 

im cheap...even worse im poor. well not really but i dont make too much money so i dont have 1500+ to blow on something like this. like i said this is just for intermidite usage. cough-like my exhaust hangers-cough

 

eh, if you are really cheap, use JB weld

I agree I need a cheap welder also. I was thinking about that one from walmart. I want to do an exhaust system for my car.
