Thinking about starting a jet ski rental business

I've been thinking about starting a jet ski rental this summer. The thing that would make me stand out would be providing the stand up jet skis as opposed to the sit down ones everyone uses now. Startup costs wouldn't be that much because the skis aren't that expensive and i could run it out of a trailer.

Questions:

If you were at a lake and saw them for rent, what is the chance you would rent one?

How much would you expect to pay an hour?

I'd say something like $50 for an hour would be reasonable. When I went out to lake tahoe for a wedding, they charged $100/hr i believe, but then again, thats tahoe.

Ya, I was thinking about that for price. I'd be going for volume of rentals as opposed to a couple people at a high price. The sit downs go for about 100 an hour but I think with a lower price I could get a younger crowd as well.

just do what they do when i rented a boat. charge 2 dollars a minute for every minute its not back on time. out on the lake its hard to keep track of time cause your having fun. also time goes by really fast so no one will plan out for a 5 hour rental they will try and do 4 and be 30 minutes late. and then bam you just made an extra $60

be careful aiming for the younger crowd, your ---- is going to get abused as apposed to the ski that got rented to the 30 year dude and his wife. I know i never gave a ---- about rental property

good call on the younger crowd not giving a ----. I didn't think about that. And I will definitely use the $2 a minute idea, that sounds like it would work great.
