hey it's beats buying a 240. got LSD? hope you have fun w/ it. my only complaint is that this car is ------- slow if its not under pressure. 20v or not, you need boost on this thang (SC? t3?). lmk if you need help.

I know of an awsome AE86 track car on the east coast sittin in the junkyard. 4age, make for a good track car, $800 and a new starter and it would be drivable....I have pics, but you will have to wait till I get home until I can post them.

wut up peeps, i went to see it today, that was a trip im in New Jersey and it was in Connecticut. So neways the car has rust mainly in the back where the quarter panel is, like crxs have. Thats what is killing it, i really want this car, but damn then i gotta take the car to the body shop and get new metal welded in. Well what can u expect from a 19 year old car. i feel like offering him like 800 or something, besides he needs the money, what do u guys thunk?

My friend's '86 GTS is one of my favorite cars to rip on. Yeah they suck balls if you wanna drag race, but they love hitting corners, and they sip fuel. The beater '86 gets 40+ mpg.

They're nice light RWD cars, but they're terribly slow.
I'd like to get one some day to build a drag car. They were the last real cars (RWD) Toyota made for an affordable price.

I said it would make a great track car....copy paste

well, so there you have it. I said it would make a great treack car, and it would. it needs to be washed, and all that green stuff is NC pollen. nothing bad, you just wash it off. The interior was nice, just needs a shop-vac and armor-all taken to it. the pass side was clean, nothing like the driver side. The guy told me he drove it to where it sat, and thinks there is a set of cams in it. he said it ran really strong and compression test was awsome. he didnt remeber what it was but it was good(the car has sat for at least 1 year) it does need a new starter, thats why he couldnt start it for us....but there you go. for $800 its a steal I think.

i realy realy like toyotas.. but you would honestly have to be smoking crack to buy that car.. they suck get like an 85 celica supra or somthing like that. or a 1gen mr2 or a supra or a fucked up camaro or somthing if you just want a rear wheel drive car.. i think they look like ---- and i think the 85 celica gts and the celica supra look way betterhttp://quick.freeshell.org/img/mkII.jpgcelica supra http://www.celicas.org/members/liljoe/85gts.jpgcelica gts

Re:Thinking about buying an AE86

My dad owns an 85 Celica Supra, the performance model or whatever. It's totally different car than an AE86, but it's light, not Honda light, but light, RWD, inline 6, so it can bust the tires loose pretty good. Plus the turbo manifold from the 86.5-1992 Supra is bolt on, 200+ horses and the Supra guys get rid of them all the time. Just another option...

1985 year model corolla GT-s/AE86 != Corolla SR-5 AE86

year model has nothing to do with the chassis

----; that thing is molested.
I would NOT spend $800 on it unless i checked the mechanics out thoroughly. My friend has 2 ae86 corolla's; they're ugly and slow as ---- but they have their plus's. Personally I would not buy one... ever.. in a million years.. but i hate toyota and dont like that ricer markup that most corolla pricetag's have.

Calm down daughter! You know how many kids these days are like "Yea I'm going to get myself an AE86. Those things are BAD@$$. I saw it on Initial D, and it was hella COOL!" :-\ I didnt mean to generalize but there is some truth in it...

for $800!!! you are nuts. It is an awsome awsome track car. the motor is worth 800 alone. it just need to be cleaned. you would look at 100X's different if it were clean and didnt have pollen and pine needles all over it. I would garantee it. also, considering the owner of th junkyard that has it is the #1 contender at the local circle track, Im sure its in awsome condition mechanical wise, and his plans were to use it on the track but he couldn't find carbs for it that were legal for the class he wanted to run in. thats my $.02
