Midwest is cheap as hell to live, and Joplin, Missouri is a huge trucking depot. Hell thats where CMT films "pimp my truck" yeehaw. But seriously, midwest has a lot of diesel mechanic jobs, its a big trucking industry and farming industry. Not to mention, 270k buys a 2 story 5+ bedroom house.

Bought a recycled stick built house for $50k and is gonna live in that until his five bedroom house is built. I'd thought about moving to the south, mainly because I *BADLY* want a swamp boat and a big ass pickup truck :y I think it'd either be FL or NV I'd want to go to. Depends where the work is I s'pose Hummmm. Got nothing keeping me here. Think I might have a look and see how easy it is to get in (legally...) |

What I want is to move into the middle of the Nevada desert and live underground like Burt Gummer :P Only problem is, I manage quite nciely on eBay selling mild steel B series flanges to people for $80 because no one does the HMT thing to the extent people do in the states. The big name car parts store chain we have over here is full of car polish and prop rejects from the Fast and the Furious. My colleague moved out to America to work for megabucks at a silicon valley bluechip. He absolutely hated it. Said there was no real atmosphere, everyone just worked all the time, the bars were cheap but horrible and the only thing to eat was fast food. Inflation also meant his house out there is now worth about 2/3rds of what he paid for it. |

BIIIIG Land Rover nut I am. Just wished I wasn't such a sand ------ when it came to technology and had more pictures of my past toys. HMT on a bone stock 160k mile 3.5 low comp 1977 Range Rover engine making 260bhp and over 300ft lbs ;D Something about chasing BMWs in something that looks like it escaped from the wacky races :8 |

Everyoe is sick of being taken for a mug because traditionally we're too damned polite to speak out about it, hence we get bent over every day of the week. I'd get a better ride if I was a raghead. I'd get a fuking house and cable TV for me and my entire family off the government. Oh, and junk food is fine by me. I s'pose that's why I'm 300lbs (but 6'5" too...) :l :'( |

You've spent massive amounts of money on fighting several wars which continue at great cost to civilian and military personnel. Not to mention the monetary cost.
