Test drove S2000 and 350Z yesterday

i was out in Phoenix yesterday w/ my dad lookin at apartments and ---- and we decided to go test drive some cars. first we test drove a yellow S2000, and damn that thing was ------ awesome. the entire layout of the car was perfect and so was the power.you guys just have to shift gars in one of these things, i couldn't really open it up because we weren't allowed to take it on the highway but i was very impressed to say the least. then we drove the 350Z. while this car was also amazing, it just didn't appeal to me like the S2000 did. low end torque was better than the S but overall the S2000 in my opinion is a much better car. i think maybe i've been driving my civic for too long! ;D

was it the 04 s2000 or the 03? i still like the s2k better than the 350z. i've seen people around town racing the 350z and it just doesnt look that fast at all. overrated imo

Re:Test drove S2000 and 350Z yesterday

It was an o4 s2000, with the new engine. and yeah the 350Z just doesn't do it for me, i expected more from that engine, and little things like the clutch engagement bothered me. S2000 all the way!

Re:Test drove S2000 and 350Z yesterday

i know the 04 s2k has a bigger engine but i dont think it produces more power than the 03 does it? arent they both rated at 240hp? so whats the point of the bigger engine? more torque?

Re:Test drove S2000 and 350Z yesterday

I drive 350's all the time at work, and I think they feel alot tigter handling wise. As far as power, the s2k and the 350 are pretty weak. The s2k is just in dying need of some torque, but is alot of fun to rap the tach out. And the 350 is just backwards, torque is good but nissan cuts the redline out way early.

Both cool cars, but if I was gonna pick one of the other, I think it would have to be a s2k.

yeah i was reading up on it a little bit, they went from a 2.0 to a 2.2. it makes something like 7 more horsepower but more torque, i don't ------- remember but i likey

to me i thought the s2k handled better, its like it was on rails, and yeah the 350 cuts out way too early

I've probably drove them just a "tad" bit harder than you did on your test drives ;)

Man......i bet it would be fun to test ride both of them. I just get to test ride harley's. I would much rather prefer the S2000. ;)

well my friend has a 350z and he let me drive it back to campus on friday after we saw the dawn of the dead. It is a little overated but it does have mad torque. I agree that the redline comes in way to early and the clutch feels weird compare to my civic. It seemslike it takes forever to make it touch the floor. But its a pretty neat car i would love to drive a s2k. They only thing about the new s2k is that its a 2.2 liter and has a little more torque.

the new 2004 s2000 will give u better track times than a 350z or a rx8 and this has been proven by professional drivers

Who cares about 1/4 mile times, nobody buying those cars are at the strip. They will both get u past any weenie economy car with ease... rwd being one of the main factors, just off the launch the cars are insane. Ive only driven the s2k, bad ass car, chassy is a lil snappy and it still feels like a honda, but its an awesome toy, Both cars are cool enough and fast enough, but the 350 doesnt do it for me either, i want a car thats just asking to be floored to get me moving 9k baby

Re:Test drove S2000 and 350Z yesterday

the new 04 s2000, in addition to the added torque, hits the maximum at a lower rpm and with that also the redline.

I havent really test drove any but i was thinking of getting a 300z. I think I'll go with a mr2 TT next year tho.

wait a second.. s2k all the way!! it looks sexier than the fat ass 350z. and whats with the "350" when its not a real 350hp car.. (plans for a stock FI in the future anyone?)

call me dumb, but i'd prefer the infinity g35 sedan over the 350z anyday.. maybe its the 4 doors and lower insurance, i dont know.

the s2k is a 2.2 now and the rev limit is 800 revs lower. It reaches max hp 800 lower as well and the HP is the same at 240 (rated) but the tourqe is more. Overall, they made it easier for daily use.

its called a 350 because of the 3.5l buddy, follow the nissan history, lol jk, and i still rev the s2k to 9k even if the redline is 8200, So dont quote me boy i aint said ----
