What side of the chain you drive the distributor off of dictates it's rotation.

Pelegri Didier had to press the reluctors off the shaft and press them on backwards when he reversed the rotation on a B16.

I think you've got too into the drag car mentality.

i-Vtec isn't about power, its about economy and COP ignition is about economy as well, by running sequential injection/ignition you get to lean out the burn.

So yeah, k-series doesn't do ---- for top end, but it does lend a bit of flexibility and cleans up the engine. After all, no manufacturer wastes money unless they have to. And Euro4 or whatever, states they have to!

How do people ---- K's up in the states. Honetly, it boggles me. We beat the ---- out of them here and they take more rapings just as well as the B's.

Yeah, which is why I want a freaking Miata, right? I think you misunderstand completely.

The older ditributor Honduhs have sequential ignition and injection as well... and since the ignition is much more robust you can lean out the burn every bit as much as any K-series, and then you can take it leaner. Honduh had zero problem acheiving LEV and ULEV spec on the distributor cars.

But when the manufacturer can offer a buzzword level technology and create hype to generate interest then they can gig fools at the parts counter for an unreliable product. These new cars have more than mere ignitor/coil longevity issues, they have fundimental design issues in transmission, engine, chassis, wiring. These are not a line of cars I would care to own.

i'm a big fan of the b series engine, they are very robust engines, it's just a shame to see the k series engine not be able to show itself as being a tough contender, because it does have some very cool features, the biggest one being the high flowing cylinder head.
