Targa Top Conversions

I have a 1986.5 Toyota Supra 5Spd NA. I have a hard Top and I want a targa top I dont want to sell my car to get a targa top car. So I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone or anywhere that has cars that are turned into targa top. I want pictures of some cars that arent ment to be targa top. I want to make mine Targa Top so is it possible? I know it wont have the same retaining clips as the factory setup to hold the top, but i dont care. Give me some info people

that looks like a lot of work and money has to be put into doing that. My buddy was suggesting putting in a sunroof or moonroof but thats just to practical and not as good as targa top and plus supras look better in targa than a sunroof. even if it means taking it off and putting it back on will be a bitch

the targa top supras have a funny little "shimmy" to them anyway. like the body twist alittle. a homemade targa might not be very safe :'(

Really? I thought something like that could happen but I wasnt sure. Is it that bad? Cuz if it is sunroof sounds a little bit better and cheaper without the cost of ------- up your roof and having to buy a whole new car.

I just thought that maybe stock targas had already a reinforcement to them that keeps the body from twisting. I was planning on buying a targa top from another supra and just makign the dimensions for it to rest on the roof and having the option of taking it out on a nice day. THATS what I want, to be able to go down the street in a nice summer dayand just cruise down with that top off :-D

Sounds corny i know but its a cool thoughtand plus chicks dig the whole "wind in your hair" feeling.

too much trouble in my opinion. do things to the engine like a turbo or NOS that'll be more fun than a targa top.

then get a damn cabriolet. its you could do it if you wanted. but getting it to look good would be an issue.
