You're confused with the skyline motor - RB26DETT. The redtop is a silvia SR20DET single turbo. A very popular swap. The RB26DETT is too expensive.
He's not confused, you're confused, the R32 skyline motor is cheaper and makes more power than the Sr20, this is the RB20dett. then there was the R33 skyline motor, RB25dett, then the incredibly expensive R34 motor, the RB26dett. The first one is sweet because it is just as small as the Sr20, perfect for a swap, 6 cylinders, and makes more power. Check out www.night7racing.com for a lot more good info on 240 swaps.
I had no idea you can swap motors with a skyline into a 240sx. I bet thats exspensive as hell though

And as far as choosing between these cars, I would like a 240 with a swap, but DSM's are boring, i'd rather have my slow Honda than a DSM.

well it depends on what you want to do with the car if you want a powerfull beast with awsome traction and great for drag racing get a 1g talson tsi 90-91 the block is the strongest in these 2 years my buddy here in germany army guy has a t4 running 27lbs of boost on a stock block with 750cc injectors and a safc with no problems. just these cars are known to blow pressure plates at high hp. now if you want an all out universal car drifting and such get a 240 with a sr20det or get a 180sx with a ca18det same thing just an older model. here in germany the have this car but its called the 200sx( jap 180sx) same exact car with a 1.8l rear wheel drive turbocharged cast iron block beast under the hood. guys in the uk get 400hp with an upgraded turbo no plroblem with these and guess what a 89-90 will cost you $600-$1000 bucks in good working order here in germany. im getting one as a daily driver

No, as I said, the Rb20dett will drop in for about the same cash as a Sr20 only the block is stronger, has 30 more ponies stock and is a 6 cylinder. The sr20 is a really good swap but because of that people think it is there only option, when it really isnt even the best.

----, thats why i hant left yet. Germans cant do ---- to their cars without paying a huge tax and then extra money for inspection so almost any car you buy is in great condition and if it didnt pass inspection you can get it for pennies. my buddy just got a type r drive train everything down to the 5 lug conversion for $4000 with a b18c6 yes c6 german spec 11.1 compression ratio. but yeah just fly over take a nice vacatin and send yourself home a 180sx for about 1500-2000 already turbo

I ment exspensive as finding a skyline engine which you have to get from japan and ship it to the us
