Tachometer ?

All of a sudden my tach quit working in my 90 civic Si D16A6. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it?

3 wires to check: power, ground and tach signal. power and ground should be pretty self-explanitory... as i recall, the tach gets its power through a couple screws on the back of the cluster, check for voltage there with the ignition on.
the signal comes from the ignitor unit in the distributor. first make sure all the wiring connectors are seated, then check for continuity between the ignitor unit connector and the back of the gauge cluster... it should be the blue wire.
if there's a break in the wire, just start going from connector to connector checking continuity. ignitor unit blade connector -> 2 pin distributor connector -> driver's engine harness connector -> dash harness connector @ fuse box -> gauge cluster connector -> tach contact screw.
if the wiring's fine, you've either got a bad ignitor, or a bad tach. a failing ignitor typically shows up as jumping tach and stumble / misfire from the engine, though i don't think i've ever heard of a tach going bad on it's own.
