hey my friend got a 98 civic and he bought a autometer shiftlight tach and it has 4 wires power ground and light source to turn the on and off whats the other one its a green wire

The green is the tach signal wire. How else do you think it measures your RPM?

tach signal. connect to the appropriate source on your coil or splice into your harness.

Oh BTW its the blue wire with the silver dots under the dash. There are 2 like that. One is for the air bag, one is for the tach.

ok thanks guys thats what i thought it was the blue and white theres a black and yellow 2 and the blue and white is the negitive then thanks guys

well i hooked it up to the blue and white and it doesnt work on the harness next to the distrubutor but there are 2 big wires next to like 10 small ones a blue and a black are those the negitive and positive for the disturbutor

EASIEST thing you can do is to wire it to your cluster. Powder blue wire with silver dots on it. Splice.
I have no idea why people ---- around with their coils and dizzys and O2 wiring. :S You need to make sure all your power and ground wire are good too or it won't work. :6 |

your coil negative terminal. or vss, not sure which wire.
but what are you doing with a tv screen tach? didn't honda already install one? the saying goes if your car was meant to go fast they would have installed a tach. are you revving that high to need a 5 inch tach. and oh yeah the famous my friend this and my friend that, we all know its yours. |
