Manual 5 speed Transmission
Currently getting about 30mpg
This car is an ongoing project of mine. I am constantly working on it, adding many new parts and tuning. It runs and drives extremely well. I drive it about 2-3 times a week as I do have another car. I have stored the car every winter since I bought it. Any way you look at it, this car is in great shape, and would make a great street race or cruiser car for anyone willing to finish it up.
Also, I have appeared at street races, but have never raced. I know what kind of wear and tear that does to a car and didnt want that for mine. Car was only taken above 80mph once when I dared to go up to 125. The pedal was not to the floor so I do believe it can go faster than that w/o redlining. Redline is at 7,000 RPMS.
The last repairs were a new passenger side axle, and wheel bearing. Darn Minnesota potholes!
At the same time, I also put in my R1 Motorsports adjustable lowering kit. It offers a 1-3 inch drop. I have it currently set at its highest setting so the springs can be broken in properly before it is dropped. The lowering is easy to do... all you need is a jack and some jackstands, and a measuring tape. 2 wrenches for the kit are provided.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION HAVE BEEN REPLACED at 160,000 miles. Came out of a 90 Talon with just under 50,000 miles. Shifts nice, but shift select cables could use slight adjusting if you plan on racing it.
Other things this car sports are as follows:
-APC Altezza (Euro) Racing Taillights
-Megan Racing Silver/Black Adjustable Spoiler
-Painted on decals: Red, Blue, and Silver
-16" Chrome wheels Etoria by Enkei Style 224
-Blue Reverse lights w/ newer lenses
-Altezza Clear corner lights
-EuroLight Clear Projection Flip up headlights (H4)
-Super Blue H4 bulbs from Japan
-Custom made open air intake with K&N Filter
-Honeycomb on MAF has been removed for more airflow
-Chrome shift lever with flashing LEDs (3 Settings)
-2 pairs aftermarket foglights (a must with blue headlights when driving in rain)
-Green underbody lighting kit (partially wired, only rear bulb functional)
-Custom LED switch panel near floor on center console has 6 switches, only 2 currently used
-Custom engraved plaque that reads: GET IN SIT DOWN SHUT UP HOLD ON and has Eclipse and Mitsubishi symbol mounted on passenger side dash
-Janspeed Racing Muffler (Sounds awesomely mean!)
-Painted Metallic Green with decals, Sept 03
-Chrome Front strut bar for added stability
-Chrome painted headlight and foglight housings
-Chrome mesh grill in front bumper (license plate is not installed in front, but do have mount if wanted)
-Battery removed from under hood and replaced with a much larger one mounted in rear hatch. 820 ccw gaurantees it will start no matter how cold.
Stereo:
-Clarion Pro Audio CD Player (dont have model number on hand but it was $275 new)
-Newer 5.25" mid bass woofers in doors
-Factory speakers in dash
-Newer 6.5" Speakers in back
-Bazooka EL1500 Amplifier 600w, 500w RMS due to built in capacitor
-2 10" VR3 subwoofers in mirrored dual bandbass box with plexiglass window and blue neon light up rings (not currently wired)
Items not installed but go with the car:
-2 farad American Accessories Capacitor with digital readout
-Front License plate holder
-Carbon fiber pedal covers
-Blue LED windshield washer nozzle lights
-About 20 feet x 20 inches of 20% VLT window tint should be enough to do all windows
Car imperfections
-Windshield has a crack that ------ during winter storage (Alpine Auto Glass Quote $296 inc. tax)
-Small rust spot (quarter size) surface rust on drivers side fender
-Will need new front tires in the near future
-AC has a leak, tried to recharge but no luck. My recommendation - pull the belt off or remove all together for extra horsepower!
-Car has a few dings here and there but nothing major. Worst ding is a nick in the front bumper that isnt very big. Others are hardly noticeable.
-Rear wiper removed to make room for spoiler. If you really want one the wires are still there and it wouldnt take more than 5 min.
-Chrome wheels have a few dings and if you are picky you may want to have them re-chromed as that style is no longer made. The center caps are also no longer made, so be careful not to lose them. I lost them a year ago and these cost me $84.
-Headliner is saggy. Easy fix.
Other things of note:
-Brakes are in great condition. Rotors arent that old, and pads are like new.
-Everything works, and works well. It is a joy to drive.
Sorry if this got real wordy, I just wanted to disclose all I could about the car. The best way to reach me is by email or phone. If you cant reach me at the number listed try the cell 320-493-0892.
I only accept serious CASH offers, otherwise price is FIRM. If paying the asking price I will only accept certified cashiers check or cash.
Thanks for looking!
PS. There are also a couple photos of this car on www.streetstatements.com check it out!
