"Swaps Not Reommended for Civic"
OK this is a new sticky on out local forum from a new mod...i posted a bunch of stuff how it is the dumbest post and not even true or factual info...whats everyone else thing...
Swaps Not Recommended
The point of this thread is for the wiring. the older cars have different wiring then the new cars. if you put the right obd in your car you will not have a wiring problem. i am not saying you can't put these motors in your car. its just about the wiring!
All the motor for Hondas are not all perfect swaps. Some will work ( I know for a fact) but might require more mods or more work. The main thing is keeping the same obd in the same car. I have put an obd0 motor in a obd2a car and it did work and it did run. But these are some motors that is recommended not to put in your civic!
4th gen
* D16Y7/8
* B16A2 (USDM)
* B16A3
* 96+ B18C
* 96+ B18B
* B18C5
* any H-series
* any C-series motor
We don't recommend these motors for several reasons. The H series is totally different mounting set up. You can do it but it will mess up your engine bay in more ways then one. With all the denting and banging you have to do it will work will weaken the metal in the engine bay. AGAIN it can be done just not fully recommended. No you can put an obd1 or obd2 motor in your civic but the wiring is going to be totally different!
5th gen
* B16A SiR
* B17A
* B18A
* ZC/D16A6/8/9
* any C-series motor
Ok even though I didn’t say anything about the H series motor it can be done. You will need a mount kit for it and you will have to make a shifter box or order the kit for it. The H series motor is about 60 to 80 pounds more then the B series, but it can be fixed by using stiffer springs and better shocks but its not that bad of a deal.
6th gen
* B16A SiR
* B16A3
* B17A
* B18A
* 94-95 B18C
* 94-95 B18B
* ZC/D16A6/8/9
* any C-series motor
The main reason is because of the wiring. Again it can be done just know the wiring is TOTALLY different!
7th gen
* any B-series motor
* any D-series motor <2001
* any C-series motor
* any H-series motor
* any F-series motor
Unless you want to make custom mounts it will not work. Your better off putting a K series motor in this gen!
OK now on the whole thing you guys notices I didn’t say anything about the K series in the other gens. Reason is because now they are making mount kits for all these cars! For those wondering the C series motor is the V6 motor

I have seen a list similar to that on some other forum quite awhile ago. There is some truth there as the average person trying to do these swaps can probably barely wipe their own *** and will ---- the whole thing up royally.
