suspension

ok well for about the same price brand new i can get IBOCK and TANABE springs i onely know that the IBOCK springs will give ma a 1.4'' front drop and a 1.2' rear drop. as for the tanabe i can chose from any of theses http://imageinmotion.com/categories.php?cat=263 . my set up is a 93 eg with a d15 running a 14b @ 9-10 psi im planing on geting some 15's for it and some sway bars. my budy had a integra with cheap coil overs and the rid was realy fucken stiff but i didnt mind it. i want the best handeling set up and i like stiff but not crazy stiff. open to any sugestions . thx guys

Re: suspension

what kind of shocks/struts are you planning on getting?

you cant have the best handling on stock struts.

Re: suspension

here's whats gonna happen.

1. you're gonna tear your suspension apart, put in your shiny new coils

2. you're going to blow out all 4 struts probably within a month, and your car will ride like ass

3. you're going to tear your suspension apart AGAIN, and replace your shitty blown struts

or you can make it a simple one step process, spend the money on some tokico's or KYB's and save the hassle.

Neuspeed springs + Tokico blues for over a year, the car is ------- slammed, but rides nicely.

Whatever you do, if you're looking to put power down afterwards, address your faggoty camber that slamming Honda's induces.

You do not want any drop, unless you plan to spend serious time on your suspension.

I rode in Speed Phreak's 2.0/VTEC CRX with Holset HX35 power two weeks ago. It is at stock HF ride height, actually looks a little 4X4-ish because of it. Stock 200K miule suspension bushings, Brand X cheapass coilovers, and bottom of the barrel KYB GR2 shocks.... the car is smooth as sex in and out of power, feels a LOT more stable under power than anything lowered I've ever been in. He punched it up a cloverleaf exit ramp at 9 psi, speeds over 80 mph on a pretty tight curve... and the car felt really good and hugged the ground. As a passenger, I felt safe. I can't think of any other turbo Honda with a similar power-weight (275-ish is enough for a high 11 in an 1800 lb car) that feels like that, handles like that.

Time to rethink everything we think we know, kids... If you camber kit and align a lowered ride it makes a big improvement all around... with all the new parts replacing slopped out old ----, it feels like an improvement. But, lowering the car alters suspension geometry, and dynamic handling goes and sucks dick for crackrock. I knew all the big name road race guys were lowering their cars *at most* 1/2" from stock, but...

well kick me in the balls and call me uncle. i guess ill try to find something with close to stock ride. right now the tanabe springs im looking at are a 1.5 drop front and rear. ya i guess you got a point if a car was developed a certin way and you try and change it you cant realy inprove on it onely make it worse. so much for a agresive stance.

Very well put. I see so many Hondas driving around, slammed to the ------- ground, trying to creep over every little bump in the road. Meanwhile, with my 1.4" front, and 1.0" rear drops, I leave the sight of cars behind me when tearing through the twisties. Tokico HPK's are what I'm pushing. Some people will rag on the wheel gap, I tell them to meet me in the mountains.
