I've always admired those vehicles. Amazing amounts of power on tap, and so responsive.

That is bad ass!! I am buying all my metal this weekend to make the rock rails for my Jeep. My goal is to have it ready to go to Paragon in the spring. I just ordered the manditory CB. SO I will be redneck equiped. Im looking to throw a larger lift on, probably 4.5" and go 33's maybe with some cutting. Lockers and maybe a disc 8.8 rear will get in there by then.

The 8.8 is noticeable narrower, get a 29 spline chrysler 8.25" from a late year 96 or newer. Almost as stout as a 30 spline dana 44, and explorer 8.8's have been known to spin the tubes.

And make sure you get a CB with an RF gain adjustment, I bought a cobra dx iv. Also make sure you use 18 feet of coax and don't go shorter. Its excess but I spent an hour with the guy at DR communications with him telling me what to do for best results. He also said I wanted at least a 4 foot antenna, but I settled for a 3 foot thats alot like the firestik.

33's on 4.5" is gonna take some good trimming, but focus more on a good bumpstop setup over excessive trimming.

Auburn Ected lockers are decently priced, they're electric lock on the fly, and a limited slip when disengaged. run about $549 or so.

good lookin out. So you really think the 8.25 chrysler is a better choice? I like the straight bolt in idea. Just need U bolts right?

Yeah if you end up with an 8.8 you're gonna want wheel spacers just to get the wheels out there, or a different offset wheel.

http://www.naxja.org/forum has a ---- ton of info on cherokee's.

Actually for U-Bolts, depending on how much larger the axle is you might get away with re-using them...otherwise yeah you'd need those. If you end up needing a larger diameter U-bolt you might have to hog out the holes on the spring plate to match

My Jeep will do 100+ and probably do it faster than your "non-offroader"....and climb a rocky ass mountain afterwards.
