I just recently got a lincoln 135T with the gas and all and I love it. It's the only welder I've ever owned, but I'm already on my 3rd tank of gas and I'm pretty confident that I could weld just about anything I will ever need to.

Raffi, the wire spool is plastic no matter what. Where the wire goes into the line is a plastic hinge type thing with a metal wheel to guide it. I haven't seen the inside of a miller, but I don't see mine as looking/being cheap for what that thing does. Oh, and it comes with a 3 year warranty and a nascar sticker on the side, so uuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.

Heres the inside

This chart on the inside of the door is real helpful with settings

The other day the welder doubled as a drill too. We needed to make a hole for DoubleA's o2 bung, so I turned the heat all the way up and burned a hole into the downpipe.

is the nascar sticker standard equipment? Do you have a baller auto darkening helmet? Those things are practically a must have

yeah i was definently waiting on your input too Steve..one of the major reasons for the welder is my S&W roll cage(like the one you got) comes in next week for my GTI so thats the major things on the list I might tackle after I practice on some other stuff. I might go with the lincoln, I've talked to some other people with the 135, and they really are pleased.

anyone else with more suggestions throw them on in!

Studies have shown that welders work better with the nascar sticker. :P

Definately practice before you do the cage, and take your time. I'm 70% happy with the way mine went, but I am going to be grinding and re-welding on the visable areas.

well after using mike Harbor freight welder and --------'s Lincoln 135 i must say that the Lincoln by far out performs it any day. witht hat said i also think that welding with a TIG is alot more precise and easier ( to me that is ) to use. The again i only used it at school and it was a miller syncrowave. Bad *** stuff.

Get a tig if you can. i know you can get them pretty cheap used if you look around.

good luck

well I went with the LINCOLN SP135T, also got a gas cylinder for a few extra...so the total was a little over $500 or so, not a bad deal! I'm gonna copy everybody else and make an HMT welding cart as my first project...fun, fun!!

thinking about rocking this helmet.... not much throat protection, though

Just to let you know that those are only usable on Steels. No aluminum.

I would like one of these. We had one at work that did a nice job. Portable Too!

Or this one for the long haul! This is the one WeirRacing has.
