Re:Suade paint.? what can I use?

they sell a dye for clothes at walmart. it comes in black.
it's in powder form so you mix it with water. for a car seat i'd mix it and put it in a spray bottle and spray down the seats while they're outta the car. let it dry for a good 2 days out in the sun. rinse off any of the excess dye so it won't stain your clothe. and repeat this process if neccesary. that's what i'd do.

YEah the RIT dye walmart sells is ----, no matter how many times you rinse it, it leaves bye behind, not really good for my application. there is some kick ass organic dyes in europe, but i dont know anyone that would search for me, i was thinking of getting paint and painting it.

A quick google for "upholstery paint" yielded this in the first page of results.....

http://www.sunshinejoy.com/default.asp?Item=SP3801217M

And the same search on eGay yielded this....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2582&item=59214691 11&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Not sure how either of these works, but there is stuff out there....

The ebay one is for model cars, lol, good find though, the first stuff washes off, i need something permanent, i still think flat black paint would do the trick if applied in light coats.

i say just leave them alone if they are in good shape. Seems like too much of a hassle to recolor them. Or you could just find someone to trade with.

Re:Suade paint.? what can I use?

Yeah I have tried that apolstry crap before and it wears off. anything you *spray* on it will come off eventualy.
If your serious about changing the color and want it to look right get someone that knows how to sew and make a cover with black cloth. I have done it before and its the best way. *read last longest and doesnt get on your pants*
just take off the harness frame and put the cover on then cut them back out and put the frames back in.

Yeah man, let it dry out on your driveway in the sun. So what time and day are you gonna dry them? and where do you live? ;) Maybe I can come up on some new seats.

Thanks for the replies guys, I think i'll leave them red i guess. blue car, red seats = ok looking but still too much attention.

normal spraypaint shouldnt wear off on to fabric.
