So my dads computer has been ------- up lately. Its a regular compaq with an amd 64 processor the only thing that has been changed is added an extra 512 ram to make it 1 gig. So hell be running a program he says, I think its only in IE, and the screen with start to like flicker. Once I ctrl-alt-delete and close it, the problem stops. I've ran memtest86, It passed, and I've ran prime 95 for about 45 minutes and the temps didn't get to bad.

Something else thatis wierd is when I try to update java the comp also freezes So I think it may be a wierd software thing. So any ideas, also, what the hell is java.

 

try using firefox instead of interweb exploder. or even opera.

 

firefox is def better

 

the html engine for firefox sucks ***.

IE is better

java is a programming language. and its not just for the web

 

---- java, i hate jave. Im taking computer science engineering right now, only because its a prerequisite for ME and it sucks ***. ------- for-loops and parameters.

it might be a DEP problem..turn of DEP and go into your boot.ini and change "/execute=Optin" to "/execute=AlwaysOff"
that might help
