street tuning and cops dont mix- found this out last night

out doing a few pulls to double check some changes i made because my friend wanted to get the wideband back, and of course in my small ass town i wind up driving by a cop. i was definately well into 4th gear at this time at wot, so i was going roughly 95-100 mph. one thing lead to another and i wound up with 4 tickets, all of which were dumb ---- like the cop thought i made a turn too fast, but the worst of which was for 81 in a 55. well i was definately going much faster that that, so either he clocked me before i went past, or he had no idea and was making this all up. anyway, now im gonna have to go to court in like 6 months when i have less than no cash and deal with this. bad night, bad situation, bad outcome. damn

oh, when he was giving me the i am awesome supercop and you are honda ------- speach, the cop goes " i heard your little turbocharger going shshshshshs when you drove by me". hahaha i almost wanted to be like yo man its not little, but i didnt. i told him it was my intake, because i didnt want them to get under my hood.

I'm going to court for a similar ticket. It was late at night and I was tuning my car on a desolate road. I was going fast and then slow and then i look in my rearview when i hit my brakes and i noticed something about a few feet off my rear bumper. IT was a reflection of the cop's headlights off my brake lights because he had his lights off. So anyway he pulls me over i am nice as always and he takes my ---- and then comes back. He gave me a ticket for 76 in a 55 which is the same fine as 75 in a 55 but a few more points. So i'm fighting it. My first court date was last week but surprisingly the cop rescheduled because it's summertime here. It got rescheduled to novemeber. I'm going to have a mechanic friend write up a fake bill stating that my speedometer was broken therefore it was +5/-5 off. So i thoguht i was going 73ish for lesser points.

Where do you live? I dont' understand how you can get your car impounded for an intake.
The only way you'll get your car impounded over here if they pop the hood is if they check VINs.

smaptoe... where are you from anyway? Yea around here, somtimes cops will do crap like that, even if they dont have you on radar (my guess is that he guessed and didnt have you on radar) They have points in NY too, but take it to court and get it all reduced, usually they will drop the points for driving school and a fine (~$100)

Lucky you...

every state is different, but in most states, they have a points system that determines whether or not you get to keep your liscence or not.
every type of violation has a different amount of points.... for example, running a stop sign is 3 points & going 100 in a 45 is 4 points.

when you accumulate points, you become in jeopardy of losing your liscence. the trick is to not have any points on your liscence, but if you have any, they take off so many points per year. also, this is a way that insurance companies monitor your driving record. When they see that you have a points violation on your driving record, they take it upon themselves to rape http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/ban-hump.gif you even harder month by month by increasing your premium. http://smiley.onegreatguy.net/broke.gif

in ny, if you get more than 2 speeding convictions within 18 mos you lose your lisence
