damn... this happend yesterday on my way to school. And i knew my ass is gonna get harrased more because of this. Its idiots like this (mustang owner) that kill it for everyone. I feel bad for the inoccent lady that got killed.

You know its sad that woman died because of some idiot. But. How many other people died that week in that state from non racing related accidents.. How many innocent bystanders were hit from drunk drivers or women in suv's not paying attention. Street racing doesn't involve passing cars in oncoming traffic.. Thats just being an ass. Now the cops will be pulling over anyone the "think" Might street race.. If I had a red civic I would be getting the bitch painted that week.

Also did you notice all the last names.. Oh and of coarse the woman was going 5 under the speed limit. I know the one head on collision I had was at an intersection.. My lane was open and there was traffic stoped in the next lane.. I come rolling up and I slow down.. light turns green while I am still doing like 25 or so.. I keep going. I'm doing right around 30 when I hit the intersection.. Cars next to me are still sitting there. a girl runs the turn lane infront of me.. I hit her. the morons next to me said I came flying through the intersection. Well the dumb asses were sitting still.. Of coarse it looked like I was speeding.

That was on the news when I got home from work yesterday. My girlfriend was watching it and told me it was a Honda street racing and that she didn't want me installing my turbo anymore!! hahaha I just said, but how many other people die from car accidents that don't have a fast car or turbo.. that kept her quiet. eheh

Street racing without concern on a busy street like that is just plain idiotic. I admit I have spur of the moment races, but as soon as traffic comes in sight, I slow down and drive normal. Very sad about the lady though, just as bad as a drunk driver killing an innocent person and then surviving.

smashing into a pole and killing yourself on a desolate road is one thing... but plowing into an innocent person and killing or maiming them with multiple people witnessing it is another thing.

There are accidents everyday in wich people die...but when someone dies at the hands of someone else for an idiotic thing like this... it just pisses me off...

Im not saying or proclaiming to be innocent of anything... i have done stupid things while driving... but then i realize that i couldnt live with myself if i hurt or killed someone for something so petty as that... so next time your at the light and someone wants to prove something to you... take it to an industrial area.. or the track... but not on a busy street or the freeway, wich is even worse and the outcome is usually far severe.

just use common sense.

Ghetto-D, thanks for posting this, it's a good reminder to everyone not to let the temptation of a dipshit turn you into a dipshit. Here in Ca. the driver of the civic is now a manslaughter suspect too. I hope they both get what they deserve. Yeah, I've had fun on the freeway before, but only to about 90, and only for like a half a mile at the most (with no traffic). That doesn't make it right, but 90 in a 40 on a street is just crossing the "------- idiot" line. I hope both of these ------- idiots never drive a car again.

kinda off topic....but a 74 year old woman coming off of her lunch break??? I thought the limit was 65 year's old.

And what the hell is a 74 year old woman doing driving on the road's? or driving period? I know that even 60 year old's cant drive worth crap....and most of the accident's that I here about with old people are the old people causing them.


But it is still sad what happened....That's why I take it to the track. One obervation I made during a meet at the drag strip...was all the kid's were doing 13-14 second's in the parking lot, but only 16-18 second's on the strip..........hmmmmmmmmmmm....make's ya think.

This isnt about old people... this isnt about young people... this is about stupid people who's actions have caused death or harm to others. sure old people cause accidents because their reflexes arent up to par. But young people or in this case (stupid) ass clowns, who disregarded the safety of others and themselves caused this ---- to happen. And yes he's gonna pay (Vehicular Manslauter at min), and that SOB in the red civic is either gonna get ratted out. or hes gonna have to live with this on his concience if he has one.

This is the kind of ---- that pisses me off.. this just adds fuel to the fire... this is one of the reasons cops have to pull your ass over and give you a hard time.

Like i mentioned before... next time someone pulls up to you at the light and wants to go at it... let his ass go off on his own he'll look rediculous, and if theres a cop nearby, he'll be the one getting pulled over.

If by me posting this article, makes you think twice before doing something senseless.. than i have fullfilled my civic duty....

Street Racing is never gonna fizzle out, because its in our nature as humans to be competative...

This is exactly why I don't go street racing anymore. Yes it is fun but after you lose a few good friends to this you take a look and wonder if it is still worth it. Guys i know street racing is fun and your going to do it but just try to keep it safe... I don't want anything to happen to any of you. Better yet just keep it on the track if you can!!! Just remember you may be an awesome driver but you need to look out for others who may not be...

my condolences to the 74 year old woman and her entire family!

i hope the new movie dosent show street racing in traffic like the other one because that is just fucked up. if you race on a closed street or street with no cars then its cool.

but racing between stoplights and endangering other people is just gay and thats all there is to it.

can't these fuckers find a closed or unused road? i mean theres tons of them where i live and noone is endangered but the dumbasses racing (ie me).

i want to open up a place like that racewars in f&f so ppl can really race on the street and not a track .. theres just something cool about being able to hand someones ass to them on the street, and you know your not racing a trailer queen at the track with a tree and rubber coated track.

SANTA ANA – A man suspected of being the second street racer in a fatal May crash was arrested Wednesday, and prosecutors say they will file murder charges against him.

Rodrigo Orejel Gomez, 22, of Santa Ana was taken into custody at the Santa Ana Police Department, police Sgt. Baltazar De La Riva said.

Margaret Levya, 74, of Huntington Beach was killed May 1 when her Volkswagen Golf was hit head-on by one of two cars police believe were racing on Bristol Street.

Julio Enrique Trujillo, 25, of Santa Ana was arrested that day and charged with murder. Police believe that Trujillo was the driver of the Mustang that crossed into incoming traffic and hit Leyva's car.

The second car, believed to be Gomez's gold Acura Integra, fled the scene. Witnesses said the cars were racing at about 80 to 90 mph.

Authorities tracked Gomez down after a witness provided a clearer description of the second car, De La Riva said. Days after the crash, investigators learned that Gomez took his car to an auto-body shop to have it repainted and repaired. Police impounded the vehicle before it was fixed, De La Riva added.

Deputy District Attorney Larry Yellin said charges of murder, vehicular manslaughter and speed racing will be filed today against Gomez. Trujillo, facing the same counts, has pleaded not guilty.

"If you engage in a contest and it results in someone's death, you're going to be prosecuted for your conduct, whether (or not) you were the one who physically caused the accident," Yellin said.

Gomez is being held at Santa Ana City Jail on $1 million bail. Authorities say Trujillo and Gomez do not know each other. If convicted, both face 15 years to life in prison.

True no one should race on the streets, specially with traffic because this will happen. Street racing is stupid. I admit I've done it, but always in either closed, old roads, or empty late at night. Now they said:

Nine people died from street racing in 2001, four of them innocent bystanders, officials said. It's now down to about one or two deaths a year.

A lot more people die on the streets for something else, but they always make it a big ass deal. Now it all comes down to common sense. Just don't do it if you can't drive.

ya common sense, empty highway, closed or empty road, block the road off, (at least have a spotter for other cars, they can turn you in too!), if you are organized and only put yourselves in danger than i say its ok. its these dumbasses racing thru 8am traffic or from a stoplight that are killing innocent ppl.

the way we did it before the cops cracked down was go to an empty road and have one or 2 cars watch for cops comin, we all have cell phones and would NEVER race if there was a car coming.

no f&f ---- like painting lines or swerving into the other lane. the burnouts on the road told you where the starting line was hehe, man i miss the days before the rice.
