Yes it's sad that somebody died and they shouldn't have been racing near a school in the middle of the day, but seriously street racing isn't that big of a deal. If there weren't so many cops to catch us we would all be doing it.

I don't see anybody posting when somebody dies from a dui, drugs, murder, armed robbery, etc...

I am not saying it's smart or safe, but I can think of a lot more things in this world that are worse, more of a problem and more dangerous than street racing.

I havent gone to the street races in a while... but when i did i somehow felt a bit safer when all those people were there running with you (this kind of discourages people who have nothing to do with this to stay away from the area)... but its this spur of the moment type ---- that usually has ended in disaster. Im sure its not just here in California, but everywhere in the US too. Recently there was coverage of such an inccident on CourtTV... And with the sequal to "The Slow and Rediculous" coming out soon... its just gonna suck big time, cause now your gonna have all these little kids who just got their license wanting to race and ----...

ok, school zone, public, daylight whatever! Charging the OTHER driver with 2nd degree murder because the other guy decided to swerve around another slower moving vehicle. thats ------- dumb. Damn cops just trying to make an example out of some kid.
1st deg murder = planned out intentional murder
2nd deg = spur of the moment but still intentional
manslaughter = accidentally killed some1

im sorry, but how the hell can the OTHER driver get charged w/ this BS.

I still dont condone his actions, racing, but to charge an 18yo with 2nd deg murder in that, its just stupid.

I think the whole street racing thing has been played out. Why don't we hear about the house wives in SUV's plowing through intersections and killing people.. Face it.. Society hates modified cars. They think anyone with a loud or other wise modified car is a punk and up to know good. I agree take it to the track.. For me I have to drive an hour an a half to get there and pay $20+ just to race. Then I get four runs. Wow thats fun. People just need to stand up and take responsibility for what they do. Your a moron.. someone died. Got to jail and live with it. Lawyer and lawmakers and gradually taking away the need to be responsible. Your breaking into someones house and hurt yourself.. sue em.. This is the BS you guys should be complaining about. Not a couple idiots.

the biggest problem I see is that they see what kind of car we drive, and then they assume we street race and pull us over and harass us about crap. What ever happened to the rights of people and this statement...

"Innocent until PROVEN guilty."

yah lets just throw that right out the window.

Yeah I see these posts and I get all pissed off. I drive a stock looking Integra and still everytime I go past a cop they are watching what I do. I'm the first one to admit that I have street raced.. I will continue to do so.. if I roll up to light and someone in a hot car is next to me you better believe I'm gonna try. I don't act stupid about it and normally it won't be very much above the speed limit. Police just like to harrass us.. Heck I got handcuffed and put in a patrol car for doing a burnout in my mustang one night. He was trying to prove a point. If we would not have been in a city he wouldn't have caught me.

All I can say is that what we do isn't worth dying for. Nobody gains anything by risking death for pride. I think that those guys who sport the HMT sticker should be the first to put their ego in the backseat.
