Buddy's dad owns a car lot. So, we get to drive all the cars. Anyway, a Geo Storm GSI is the weapon of choice one day. It's like a 1.8 (I think, not positive though) DOHC (Know that for sure, LOL.) Anyway, that thing ROLLED! For a Geo. LOL. He chirpped 2nd and the driver's door flew open. Junky cars. Oh well, good times.

I thought the Scoupe was a Mitisbishi (sp.)?

Re: stock turbo hyundai

ive seen plenty of hyundai scoupe's when i lived in puerto rico.if im correct hyundai is a korean car but mitsubishi distributes these cars and even some mitsubishi parts are used on these cars(hyundai accent, elantra, scoupe, excell).matter of fact you can put a turbo charged eclipse motor in some of the older excell and have a bad ass sleeper.and if u look at the motor of an elantra its the same ---- that ull find in a mitsubishi technica (1.8 dohc)
I myself had a 99 accent hooked up.in puerto rico they turbo charge these cars all day .but I would never pick a hyundai over a honda.

Re: stock turbo hyundai

Those IHI's that come in those things are small as one of my testicles. The engine looks like the same thing that comes in the Turbo'd Isuzu I-mark. Hell I think those turbo's in those things would even be too small for a d15/16!

Re: stock turbo hyundai

alot of people tune these cars, they replace the tiny t15 with a gtt25 pushing as far as 20 psi, the pistons have oil squirters in them and theres a n/a and turbo version, the 93-95 years come turboed i wouldnt mind having one myself, i own 2002 Hyundai Accent L "7 Psi"
Saab T25, Scoupe Manifold, 2" Downpipe to 2 1/2" Straight Pipe, Malpassi RRFPR 1:1, Tiburon Beta 1 Injectors 245cc, Stock Maf, Converted Fuel Return Line, Greddy Type S Bov, Walbro 255 lph 95-99 Eclipse fuel pump, Custom Sparco Dual Core FMIC, 2" hot piping, 2.5" Cold piping

DSM motors can be swapped i the older sonatas, elantras, in thailand they even put Nissan motors in the Tiburons

Re: stock turbo hyundai

damn with the compression that low you could run quite abit more boost. Also one way to tell the FI scoupes to the NA are that the FI have black roofs and pillars while the NA versions are all one color. I was looking into one of these awhile ago. But for those interested in the older hyundai 4g swaps. I came across this a good 5 years ago when my wife bought a early 90's elantra and it had a 4g engine. The engine seized up and she gave it to me and then I was gonna swap a 4g63 in it but then it got towed for not having any plates on it and the towing company never gave me their addy so it racked up parking cost for sitting in their yard and then the towing charge. So they hit me with a lowblow and told me that if I gave them 100 and the title then they would call it even. :-\ Damn bastards. I didnt' have the money to get it out so I coughed up the 100 and just gave it to them.

Re: stock turbo hyundai

i knew a guy who had one locally...it was cool...but it was slow but im sure with the right supporting mods it could be a badass lil car...i wanted one but i was worried about engine management and traction issues..i think there open diff...im not sure though....if i knew i could get reliable engine management and a good diff then id buy one...one day.

Re: stock turbo hyundai

The scoupes have really bad trq stear my na one has it and I bet I would have trouble breaking 18's with it on the drag strip and the dyno. Its really slow and rusty, its a fun little ---- box though.
