stinking dead dip stick has been spraying oil all over my engine bay..

Wel this is how it started. I had white smoke comming inside my cabin in 5k+ rpm so i figured i have blown a headgasket. my downpipe sucked and leaks everywhere so i figured the smoke was comming from the down pipe since the smoke was right around that area. So this weekend I made a new downpipe that fits snug and then i used some jb weld to make sure it sealed good against the turbo flange. So I took it for a spin and that bitch smoked like cheech and chong.. So then i figured maybe its the oil line spraying oil in upper rpms, but it looked very clean that was odd. So I took off my manifold and started up the car to see if i could see the spray. low and behold that shits comming out at the oil stick... BLAH. Atleast I had a new one from my engine build. Now it seems that white smoke has disapeared... this this problem has owned me for the last 2 months... So I learned white smoke not only is caused by blown headgasket, but also when your spraying oil on your manifold :-). Atleast the story has a happy ending and I got to break out my welder for some bugger welds. The more I used that mig flux, the better my welds get :-) .

Am I the only nignog owned my a bad dipstick?

Is this common? I see a little oil by my sending unit and what not when I was under it last.

Hmm, that's odd. It just sprayed up through or something?

I have replaced/fixed my oil lines atleast 3 times in the past 3 years. That oil and heat from the manifold is horrible for those SS braided lines I use.

umm are you pumping boost into the crankcase through the pcv because that would be bad. you need to either out a breather on the valve cover or or put a fitting before the turbo by the filter to draw vacuum(I know not likely)

haha that happenned to my buddy with a turbo laser, took the whole ------- car apart and it was just pressure blowin out the dipstick sprayin oil everywhere

Put it back together and he mis-assembled his oem turbos and the shaft snapped

Hes building it now though

I was saying mine was looking a little shady maybe on the back of the block where it comes from the sending unit. It's only been about 5K miles anyway. Oh well, LOL. Sounds like you do have MAD pressure. I vented my crankcase this past week and oh my the crap I find in the catchcan.

i have the pcv blocked off and a breather on my valve cover and after a bunch of hard driving, my dipstick will rise about an inch out of the pipe consistantly, although it never has sprayed oil on the motor or anything.

Same thing happened to me in my teg, I just fixed it. I have no PCV valve, and a filter on the breather. I had no dip stick in there (remember, this was project cheap slut) and it was spraying a bit of oil out in the higher rpms, and I couldn't figure it out. New headgasket/head studs, and I couldn't figure out why the bitch was smoking. Put in a dip stick and it fixed it.

so I have a pressure problem on my crank case...

I dont have anything attached to my valve cover besides a dump hose. should I disconnect my pcv system?

As long as you have one open tube venting to the atmosphere, you shouldn't have a problem with that. Do a compresson test on it, hopefully you don't have ring blowby.
