Hate or Envy
But you are right, the same engine in the regular WRX, with some intake and tuning differences, is found in the STi anywhere but in the states. They just wanted it to look bigger and better than the 2.0 evo engine in paper thinking it would sell more.
By the way, it was probably a regular WRX, most WRX people do add STi stickers and things, but remember STi is not only a car is a parts manufacturer, I have original STi parts on my WRX.

Re: sti owned
no. the wrx runs about 14 psi , i say about meaning sometimes people get as low as 13.3, and as high as 14.4
the sti? i dont know, probobly the same. remember it has a bigger engine, so it doesnt need that big of a turbo. probobly just a bigger turbo.

Re: sti owned
Yeah the sti has a slightly bigger turbo and a bigger engine at the same psi.
The WRX in stock form might hit 1bar, approx 14 psi, but not in all gears and it drops to about 10 psi in the high revs, not a constant 14, in first and second it doesn't hit 14 psi. A boost controller works wonders, trust me, I know

Re: sti owned
is that the twin turbo or the single turbo version?
yes the vf 30 series turbos are good. but if thats the only thing he did was upgrade his turbo, then he is in need of some help. the stock ecu doesnt like more than 17 psi, and the boost cus is at around 130 mph. but the cob tuning access port removes all that bullshit and tunes the ecu for that particular turbo.
