See i live at home and we just got a brand new over with the glass top stove, so i dont think ovening my block is a safe thing to do, maybe for the block but not for me.
Anyway, i'm gonna put it in a giant tub of hot water and tide, and sctub the hell out of it, then take it to the carwash and spray degreeser on it and power wash it, that should work then when clean and dry i'll paint the block silver with high heat paint

My dishwasher hardly cleans dishes so I don't think it would do a very nice job on my motor.

I could probably fit my motor in my dishwasher at work, I washed my shoes in there once, it did a pretty good job.

i've cleaned a few engines and the cheapest and best way is to spray on degreaser on a hot engine block while the oil that's stuck to it has softened up. then, when it's cooled down some, but it's still hot, you spray it with some more degreaser and let it set in for 5 minutes. then you just spray it with a garden hose. set the armorall sprayer at a mist level and spray everything plastic and rubber.
