Stealthmode's Oil Restrictor Valve

I just wanted to say: Stealthmode for President! This little treasure solved all of my smoking issues. Basically my turbo never smoked until I rebuilt my D16... at that point it had almost double the oil pressure than it used to (from 30-50psi to 50-75psi now). Was causing my turbo so smoke, i ---- u not, like a goddamn coal train.. i was so tired of it.

Anyway I put this lil guy on today, cracked it open 1/4 way and.. no smoke! Whats even better is i can reach the lever from up top if i ever need to make a change.

Needle valve = teh suq

Get a good flowing oil return, and you would never have to use one of those. I've done tons of setups and not once had a problem with to much oil pressure.

???

So did you actually do a presure test to set it at a reasonable level, or did you just slap it on there and hope your turbo is still getting enough oil?

I slapped it on and just 1/4'd it.. ---- it. I could still see through it and i drove around for 100-120 miles last night with no ill effects.

abaz I beg to differ:

1/2" fuel hose is what that is.

the second 'hose' is the oil temp sender, its just in loom & taped/shrinkwraped up so it looks like a hose :)

I dunno, I had to run a restrictor, but then again I didn't know a goddamn thing about how important it was that I not have my oil return DIRECTLY into the path of a rod counterweight... oh well, this time, crank scraper, windage tray, and I will probably still use a slight restriction just cuz I like a lot of adjustments to ---- with. Makes me feel like I'm doing something.
