Default ? on starting a importing business

I've thinking and wondering what is all needed or how does one start a engine importing business. How do you get ahold of yards in Japan do get a container filled. I'm looking to just do engines, wheels and clips. I'm gonna email some shop owners and ask them how they got started also. The midwest has a pretty small selection of engine importers besides SOKO in Chicago and ummm I think thats pretty much about it as far as I know. I'm not looking open a retail store, just like a warehouse type setup. The midwest has a pretty large import scene and I feel I would do pretty good.

I'm fairly sure if it was common knowledge there would be more importers around.

I'll just use a online translator and when my container comes it'll be filled with hello kitty and yugi-o cards and some squash scented air freshners. Since those translators work so good.

i started this... it sucks.. the profit sucks.. you really have to have a store front.. or a real warehouse... ..and itll be best to actually visit japan.. faxes and phones get you only the people who give u shitty deals... what makes $$$ is really prescription drugs online.. best job i ever had... sell all of it.. just mention on the website that u are located over seas.... to protect your ****
