Started new project today
I picked up a 1969 VW beetle for $600 about 2 months ago body is in horrible shape and all the floorpans are rusted out but it runs great. i have a semester final in Autobody which is a 4 months final of restoring an old car. The plans for this car is to give it the Cali style look(dropping it, nerf bars) and i went to the paint store today and chose a color. House of kolours "root beer brown". And the car is gettin some new shoes 16" porsche alloys, and also a new 1795cc scat racing motor that has 185 fwhp. Already stripped all the interior removed the engine and lifted the body. Tell me what you think. Will get pics as the projects start rolling along

I'm a lover of old school VW's. I had two type 3 squarebacks....both with cracked heads.
I wanna see the progress, put up some pics!
Trust me, my 72 was way more rusted than any car I've ever been in and I've been in some bad cars. I had a stop sign under my feet in the 72 because there was no floor. I have some pics of them if you want to see.
Good luck.

Old VW's also can make some badass drag cars. There was a VW with 330whp in a magazine running low 9's. This is my step dads favortie old school car i wanted to do a camaro but hes paying for it all so i didnt have a choice. The motor we are putting in will be a very reliable motor and still run mid 13's. VW's are crazy with slicks they can cut 1.5 60'. And 130whp will make them lift the front tires off the ground.

I love the tranny's on the vw's. Back in the days i had a 1980 rabbit pick-up drop w/ 15's and a scirroco engine. That thing could run. Body was in good condition just the paint was faded but i didn't care.
