Hm... interesting that they turned a new leaf.
I've never seen or dealt with an SSautochrome piece first hand, so everything I've heard has been over the interweb. If their ---- isn't as bad as it's made out to be, I might have a new turbo

Re: SSS Autochrome
ive got a customer who dyno'ed today and for whatever reason couldn't spool for crap. I suspect the SS Auto wastegate honestly.
Nothing in the setup has changed, and I dont suspect any leaks on the compressor side, as it still builds 12psi. The problem is that now instead of spooling 12psi by 4500-4800 or so, it doesnt get all the way there until redline at 7400.
I'm concerned that the gate isnt working properly. I've seen it happen on a couple before, but at the same time I've seen them work perfectly several times as well.

Re: SSS Autochrome
I had a 2piece xs and it split in half. I just jb welded it 2gether and kept using it.
And i've had the xs manderel mani for like 5k miles ... no problems, and i bought it used , the guy b4 me had it on his car for like 15k he said. So not all of thier ---- is crap .. For the price you cant really beat it.

Re: SSS Autochrome
There's general material choice problems with the manifold. After being rewelded, braced to kingdom come, etc, ad nauseam, Speed Phreak's SSAC blew out a chunk of metal between the four runners, ventilating the collector.
I can understand why a thin wall tubular on a dynamically unbalanced four cylinder is going to ---- the bed if it is expected to support wastegate or turbo. I can't understand why it would blow out welds in a 340 whp 12 psi situation. Less than 2000 miles on the thing, no less.
Tell the guy to do a short runner unequal length shorty, sort of like what I think their DSM unit looks like but am too lazy to verify, out of different or thicker metal. Bonus points if the flange is cocked a little to allow 9" compressor scrolls.
Sometime in the last two weeks he removed himself from the ban list. Previously, he was #4 or so listed. I haven't said anything, been waiting for Shipping 103 to ensue...

Re: SSS Autochrome
funny how i defended them months ago and explained the same stuff thats already being explained and no one cared and bashed me.
im glad that some of you guys are actually opening up to at least think about SSAC.
i have gotten a few things recently and will be trying out other items of his soon (bov and wg)
hopefully all the tests work out well for everyone. i know my testing has been great with SSAC's products for over a year now, and their customer service and responses are quick and top notch. and any problems i have had with them were taken care of quickly and exceeded my expectations.
