sr20det swap (that's right, it's not a honda) 56k- toss a salad
well here's the story. my buddy drives this 93 nissan nx, and it had the NA sr20de motor until he decided to accidentally shift from 3rd into second while he was racin some ricer kid and blew up the motor. so we decide to swap in a fresh jdm sr20det turbo motor. all in all it took us an all nighter, plus 2 more days to get it back on the road, but it was basically a pretty straightforward swap. (thankfully). the motor bolts right up to the stock mounts, wiring was the same except for all the egr bs, and the jdm ecu is workin pretty good right now. w/ the 6 puck he put in, it pulls pretty hard at 6 psi at the moment w/ plans of turnin it up to 10. well ne ways, here's some pics.
the old motor
this is what happens when you shift from 3rd into 2nd at almost redline- that happened to ALL of his rockers except for 2
the jdm motor came out of a nissan bluebird that i guess was AWD. usin this big *** AWD tranny for a project in the future might be kinda fun.
here's the new motor sittin in the engine bay. everything basically bolted right up, and plugged right in.
the jdm block doesn't clear the usdm crossmember, but a little grinding solved our problem. kinda hard to see in these gay pics.
the stock t25. pullin pretty decently at 6 right now.
surprisingly, the stock bov flange perfectly fit a 1g dsm bov
a new johnny race car FMIC fit prett nicely in the bumper
day 1: pulled an all nighter w/ the help of these babys
no pics of the charge piping at the moment, but soon to come

I think everyone watched that last night on tv. I was like "What!?!?" When at the diner Jesse told Vince he could tune it and run 9s. LOL. Anyway, that's pretty cool. How much was that motor? Bet that thing hulls in that little car. Is that the same motor in the 240sx silivia or s13 or whatever? I heard those run like 13.0 stock.
