Because it takes awhile to actualy get programs to work on it, and dont tell me it doesnt because im running fedora core 4. and even using yum to install packages insted of downloading the rpm's. it still takes awhile. It is more of a pain in the *** to get everything working correctly on a linux system than it is to make windows a secure stable system. Do you honestly think that half of these people would be able to even install rpm's? let alone, run the program in terminal to find out you dont have the right library files or theres some other fucked up reason your programs not working. Its fun to mess around with to get everything working, but in no way shape or form can it hold a candle to windows functionaly, ease of use, or random things like 3d processing. Opengl bites ****. the gimp bites ****. if you just used linux to surf the internet it works great, but as soon as you need to do something most normal computer users would have to take their computer somewhere to have whatever done to it. Like installing graphics drivers. Do you think someones going to copy the etc/x11/xorg.config manualy to use the right drivers go into terminal *whatever*init 3 to exit X then cp the new file over the old one? ------- doubt it.

i loaded like 100 different versions of linux on this computer. so far, the only versions i liked where dsl( damn small linux) and simply mepis. forget trying to get some others to work. the moment they realized that my omputer is smp enabled, boom, they crash. lol. im hindered in mepis cus its not an smp enabled kernel but in dsl i am, but im hindered by a not so great gui. flux box is great, but kde is better.
also, solaris 10 will **** you ther ---- off.

Oh did I forget to mention that I am a cheap bastard and paying 100 there 200 there and 50 a year here on my computer is too much. I like to build them and use them without having to constantly maintain them. The money spent on my computer is better spent, in my little world, on my cars. Windows cost too ------- much for what I use my computer for. Do I use linux exclusively, no. I use it on the computer that I surf the internet most frequently with.
Although I haven't tried many other other versions, debian is pretty kick ***.

hrm, i have the program somewhere, when i go home i;ll look for it. you run it and it launches a dos box with a bunch of serials, then you open the windows registration and select register by phone, and you put in the number and violla you got registerd windows that can get updates off the site.
