Re:spring recommendations for eg?

i vote going to a muffler shop and having them heat up the springs til there are only 2 good coils left and he won't heat any more. ;D

ive gone the cheap route before, i dont want egay coilovers or cut springs, i really want this thing to corner. There are some crazy twisty mountain roads by my school that im dying to rip through with a real suspension ;)

I've got the H&R race pretty cheap too and I have no complaints for being JUST springs but my next purchase will be omni coilovers

I have H&R sport springs with Tokico Illumina struts. I love the feel and look. I didn't want much drop, just enough to get rid of the huge fender gap.

nuespeed yellow race springs with blisten HD shocks
SUPER handling while rides like a BM. 8)

or Skunk2s with Takiko(sp:P) blues.cheap yet efficent. very comfortable but stiffent up at corners.

groud control with Koni are overated.(by HT) :P

next time i am trying out the same springs with AGX

avoid soft lowering springs coz u WILL hit every dips coz ur car sinks too much

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

i like the slammed look so im looking for that along with good cornering, and not concerned with harsh ride at all. I picking up some agx's fairly cheap for the front and i think ill get the gr2s for the back. The H&R's bbka has dont drop it enough for my taste, how do the others compare drop-wise? (like tein, skunk2, etc?)

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

not to refer you off site, but on honda-tech.com there is the autocross section...
http://www.honda-tech.com/zeroforum?id=19
at the top there is a stickey for "custom spring rate" springs. you can buy just the springs for the perches...if you want to get real technical.

...look through there. the "best for the buck" set up there they recommend, GC coilovers w/KYB AGX's. It will run you about $800-$1000 but you can not beat it for what you get out of it.

also, your tires will play a HUGE part in your suspension. dont put a $1000 suspension with some cheap $35 wal-mart tires.

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

I had KYB's with Eibach/ground control coilovers with enegry suspension bushings and the car handled like a raped date. Best bang for the buck I think.

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

I'm not really a fan of coilovers....the springs have a lot less travel and the ride is a lot more harsh than stright springs....but since you said you don't care...go with ground control-a couple of my friends have them and no complaints. I personally would do H&Rs-they feel perfect and not too low at all.

i dont really want coilovers, but i do want it to be low

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

You can always go with the H&R race springs. They drop the car about an inch lower or so.

How is the tire wear with H&Rs?

beerbongskickass 11-09-2004 05:40 PM

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

You mean how is the camber? I forget what specs I ended up with after my alignment, but it wasn't that bad at all. I didn't get anykind of camber kit either and I don't notice much wear if any.

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

I run H&R race springs with koni blues and there is no wheel gap with 17s. Right now I've got my stock 14s on so it's even lower. I can snap a pic if you'd like.

beerbongskickass 11-09-2004 05:56 PM

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

I want to see some good pictures with your 14's on...

GET R DONE! ;D

SkunT 11-09-2004 06:01 PM

Re:spring recommendations for eg?

hatch with H&R race, stock struts, stock rims, not to sure of the tire size, and a camber kit, the tire wear is pretty much all even. tire wear will vary with different tire pressures. ;)

its tommytoes (see post above)

I had H&Rs with KYB adjustables.I liked the way it looked and handled. The drop was only .75 so it wasnt slammed.I liked that combo.I would use that combo again.
