Spring Installation
 

hey everybody i was just asking about installing some springs i got. any pointers anthing thats easy or things that i shouldnt do. any help would be great, a link to a page or else im going off my chilton hehe. thanks

Use air tools if you have them and a breaker bar is also useful.

what kind of car you are putting springs on would be a useful thing to know in order to direct you to write-ups on it. rent a spring compressor from checker or autozone. I've only done this once, it was on a 3rd gen integra gsr, I had to leave once we got the front springs on and they said they couldn't get the rear springs on so they had to take it to a shop, goodluck.

make sure you have a long 14mm socket to loosen those top mount bolts, have a set of hex keys on hand with a long pipe extention to hold the strut in place while loosen up the spring, and RENT the spring compressor so you don`t kill yourself. :-X
really if you are not sure what exactly you need to do i would have a friend or someone who know their ---- to help.

if it's on a older honda IS older then about 96, the rear bolts that hold the strut the the control arm are porbly gona be seized, if your skilled you can do it with the strut still attached, otherwise your fucked, you have to cut the bolt out, and then buy a new one, which is a like 10 bucks.

WTF are you talkin about. I havent had a problem, Ive installed on a 89CRX, a 92 Hatch, 94sedan, 91teg, never once had any problems. I got this project down to about 1.5hours
My advice, yeah make sure you have deep-well sockets and some WD40 or something like that to loosen some bolts. Air tools are always helpful with anything you do to any auto, and make sure you get an alignment done when you finish.-thats common sense but many people over look it, and you figure it out when one side of your tires are worn to all hell.

okay sorry everybody my car is a 1991 CRX HF. ya my friend which is a chemical engineer and also has a CRX 88 is going to do most the work. Anyways thanks for the help. they should be in pretty soon
